Our Stickers! - maddyandzach.com/
We are Maddy and Zach, we bought a school bus to convert into a tiny house 3 years ago. Now, after 3 years of hard work, we are finally starting our adventure! In 2 weeks we head to Colorado but before we do, we have a lot of work to do.
Help us move in! 🚌 If you can, thanks! If not, that's totally fine too!

We hope you enjoyed this video and consider subscribing to watch us build out this old-school bus and travel all around North America!

It's always enjoyable to watch you guys. I could be wrong but you seem to be having fun and loving what your doing and that makes it fun to watch. I know you will get more followers and such when you get out on the road. Keep having fun, keep smiling and I will keep watching. See ya next time.

If she wasn't adorable before she turns up in a Blackhawks hoodie in this episode. My Dad was a friend of Stan Mikita - you brought a memory (and a tear) to me today.

Depending on the input voltage of your solar system you need to either connect the panels in series or parallel. In series the voltage adds up, but the current stays the same, in parallel the current adds up and the voltage stays the same. To get the most out of it the voltage the solar panels deliver should be as long in the useful range as possible. Let say the panel delivers 16 volts in the sun and the minimum input is 15 volts. The moment the sunlight is a bit dim it drops under the threshold and the system doesnt take any current in anymore. Now if you have two 16V panels in series (32V), they deliver the minimum 15 volts much longer, providing you with longer charging. The next thing is when the system draws power from the panels, their voltage drops lower. They have an idle voltage and a load voltage, should be described in the manual. I have a 23 kWp solar system at my house. The 64 380W panels have an idle voltage of 41,6V open circuit and under load 34,7V, so they drop 7V at maximum current. What could happen if your panel is just above the threshold is, the moment the charger draws current, the voltage drops under the threshold and the charging stops. So why is there a minimum and maximum input voltage? The battery needs a certain voltage to be charged fully. Stay below and it wont get fully charged, go above, fire. The panels deliver anything but the correct voltage. The 11 kW chargers i have raise the voltage to 448V, then transform it down by a fixed factor of 8 down to 56V max battery voltage (56x8=448) which raises the current to the max of 200A charging current. The charger can raise the voltage, but not lower it. It can raise it only so much. This defines the minimum and maximum voltage, this Victron RS450/200 has a minimum input of 120V and a max of 450V. Thats not the only limitation, the current input also has a max. The solar panels must be choosen and connected in series or parallel depending on the input voltage and max current of the charger. I would go for higher voltage, this lets the system charge longer when the sun goes down, and it lowers the current which reduces the losses/heat in the wiring. Power is calculated by voltage x current, so 100V x 10A = 1000W, also 10V x 100A = 1000W, but 10A is easier to handle than 100A.

Wow that was very informative, thank you! I'm thinking one day I'll just need to get a professional to rewire everything so we are getting the best outcome possible. Thanks for the help!

Does the front AC still work? I hope you got that hole sealed up while driving. I have a feeling you're going to regret pulling that heater core out. Making great progress, and finding all the bugs before the big trip to CO is for sure a smart move.

The AC does still work although we are having issues with it right now. And yes we already regret pulling the heater out but you live and learn! haha

So when you guys removed your wheelchair lift, did you have to do anything with wiring so that the transmission would work? I hear removing the lift could disable the transmission, that I'll have to complete circuit so it can go into gear.

We did remove the lift and the ground but haven’t had any issues with the trans
