@@Montisaquadeis Yeah, but then you'd need the dock to hock it up to the display, and plug the AC adapter into a wall. At that point, I'd rather just play on the Switch's native screen than carry all of this extra stuff for only double the screen size.

I actually use a Portable 1080p 15.6" monitor with my Samsung phones AKA the S8 and now the Note 10+ and yes its perfect with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. So I can tell you for certain that screens like this are GREAT with Dex

What would be really cool, is if the buttons on the back where touch sensitive. So when you brush your fingers against the buttons on the back looking for one in particular, the "key/showing which button does which" pops up on the display like a volume rocker on a smartphone.

When reviewing such screens, please always try to include a test regarding touch pen functionality, artists for example might be looking for a device to use a touch pen on (something very popular on the ipad pro). I know it's not the ideal use case, but a simple accuracy test would be more than enough to inform of the screen's touch quality.

@@nickiebanchou Agreed! I was only able to find one model with a battery, it was 369, 389 with a folding leather case, 100 more for 4k. It has a 10 point touch screen and a samsung dex built in so that's cool. But I don't trust it to make the journey from Shenzhen unharmed. Plus I think that the kickstarter might just be a group buy in disguise if you know what i'm getting at.

There are also apps that turn Android tablets into secondary displays for Windows. I use xDisplay with my Galaxy Tab S5e and it works great. It's also handy because I usually take both my laptop and tablet with me when I travel anyway.

I have a PC with a built in 15" screen salvaged from a dead notebook. To have to use only 1 power plug is a nice thing to have but zip-ties might not be the securest mounting method. :D We used that one as a server on our last LAN Party.

It having its own battery makes it really nice for people that don't need two screens too. These people most likely have smaller 13 inch laptops, and if they need to do some actual work, they can just plug in this thing and turn their laptop screen of. Saves laptop power ( screen-on-time is a very relevant factor ) and enlarges their usable screen space!

I forget which airport it was in the midwest where they changed out all the outlets to those circular-style plugs. Everything the employees plugged in you could see they rewired/taped the plugs on their tools & vacuums to make it all proprietary for them to use but not travelers.

For anyone who wants two laptop screens on the cheap ~10" Android Tablet + spacedesk (app) + whatever stand you feel like using = a bit of latency but touchscreen w/ sound and battery and no wires, bonus points if you already have the tablet Works well for netflix while gaming and similar, can't confirm how well it works on the go, wifi required

first thing i'm noticing is the reflectivity of the screen. somthing that's going to be a huge issue when using it outside in nice weather, which some (me) might have as their usecase for an external monitor when connected to their smartphone

My friend could have used one of these when we shared a hotel room, he had homework involving Assembly, a Raspberry Pi, and something attached to the Pi, so he brought along a monitor (Like 21"), keyboard, and mouse in his suitcase.

I could use my Alienware M18x R2 as an external monitor with console connected. Battery life was 7hrs+ lol

@@alexhulinsky7954 Works great for me. Had three different tablets that I've used it with. Lag kinda sucks, but for typing up school reports is easy and it uses your keyboard/mouse from the desktop as well.

I have an external monitor hooked to my Huawei P20 for remote access. it has a desktop mode. The monitor can display different thing why you messiing with your phone.
