Girls making money off grid - putting their skills to work. Julia is always busy making leather ammo belts or some custom leather products, Christina and Keziah carve handmade wood spoons when they get the chance and Abby's got the start of a farm.
Don't let anyone tell you that your kids will miss out on opportunity if you're off grid. These girls have developed more skill than we ever did in the suburbs. And its always nice to turn your skills into something that is appreciated and valuable to others.

I suppose you say the same thing when you go to fill up your vehicle with fuel. How are people supposed to survive if they don't charge for their work. Every man and girl is worth their salt. Lately so many people want things for nothing. No one is forcing you to buy anything, so if you don't like it, move on

So I am kinda curious if the ammo belt Julia was making was the one my wife ordered for me. Her name was Rowena Gagnon. We recieved it a few weeks ago. She won't give it to me until Christmas but I snuck a peek at it. Anyone that buys one will love it, very solid build it will last a life time.

The reason I ordered that big spoon from Keziah is that when I’m cooking in a large pot and need to stir things, I need a spoon that is flat at the bottom and with a long handle. It’ll be great for sautéing, making jams and so on! Great job Keziah!!

Thanks for another video glimpse into your lives all. Although I've said this before, it's so good to witness the next generation learning valuable life skills and being both aware and tied to their food source. We've lost that as a society - our connection to primary food producers and food itself - and it shows, in a myriad of negative ways. Kudos to you all for maintaining this vital connection. I also carve spoons and if you are getting 30$ you are doing great! Would love to order some bacon from ya.. I too care for how the animal is raised and fed humanly. Your family rocks and so does save the master wood worker! I am now blacksmithing tanning deer hides and woodworking rustic furniture and it is super enjoyable I hope one day to be able to make a living with my crafts as well. Keep up the awesome work.

I thank you for letting me in your life in home . Jeff you and Rose have done such a great job with your girls .I wish I still had the chance to finish being a father because in 2019 my daughter my one and only child had a car crash and she passed away . Julia, build yourself a burnishing rod / wheel. Easy to do just make sure you have different grove width. Find some bees wax wet your edge of your project before sewing it together (don't get it to wet) and rub some wax on the edges. Take your burnishing rod and rub it down till the wax is gone. I use a piece of burlap sack and go over it afterwards and it shines it up real nice. It will improve the look a lot.

What an amazing family! Great videos. I live in BC too, and have black-tail (coastal mule deer) deer in my yard every day. Organic wild meat is sooooo good to eat. Hunting is deeply rooted in us all, but relatively few people in our high-tech world ever get to unleash this primordial hunting instinct to harvest their own meat and fur.
