Modeling the progress we're seeing in this over what we've seen in image generation is crazy. I can't wait for video to video style transfer being applied to entire clips. I feel that we'll see that by the end of the year. The pace of progress makes me barely able to hold on to my papers!

Progress, yeah, but I wish that instead of being oh and aww about all these advances in AI capabilities Dr. KZF took a moment to consider if/how it is a beneficial advance. There's no doubt that this technology will be used for good things like having personalized high-quality movies, but there are also clear risks that should not just be unmentioned.

The fact that the equivalent of years of work can be accessible to all with a click of a button scares me sometimes. @@NeroDefoggerThats cool and all, but some mediums will really suffer from this Lets say that Ai learns how to write like a profesional, lets also say that Ai can make you a personal profile and know the kind of story youll wanna read at any given time Turns out that if this happens, nobody will write a book nor come with ideas ever again Why? Because writing a book is not only about creating a story, but also about sharing it and having other people reading it If we get to the point where Ai can generate perfect stories for any user... Then the whole book market dissapears, fandoms will dissapear too for this exact same reason or will be of a much smaller size due to the amount of genuinely good content Its really a weird, yet unavoidable future imo
@NeroDefogger
@NeroDefogger 3 місяці тому
@@doodoo2065 you express it in a bit of a weird way, what I think you meant to highlight is that even if people can still create what they like they might not be able to share it with people because people will only consume ai generated stuff and that might for example take away fandoms, if that is what you meant to say then... you might be right, kinda, like it is hard to say exactly how much people will go to ai stuff and how much people will want to check your stuff, probably a lot of people still want to check human generated content, but it might be a lot LOT less, maybe enough to cause discomfort in some people, I for example myself don't think I would mind if people don't consume my content, I want to create it mainly for myself, but I could see those 2 things happening, people liking people consuming their content and people not doing so because they only want to consume ai, if those 2 happen then you would be right, that would create discomfort

@NeroDefogger
@NeroDefogger 3 місяці тому
@@kilvertm how can there be "loads" of animations of something that can't be seen? that is very weird and I'm very skeptical of it, I've never seen any, and even less to be "loads" of it. as for "stole" let me lecture you about what the word "stole" means and how an AI doesn't work and why they are clearly incompatible: the word "stole" means to actually take the thing itself, as it is, not a similar thing, like you don't stole an actual working car by getting a toy car, even if it is similar, you are not stealing just for something being similar, stealing means getting the exact thing as it exactly is 1 to 1, and an AI doesn't work by copying thing 1 to 1 exactly pixel by pixel byte by byte, so it clearly is not stealing. as for "interpreted" no that one is not the right word either, as "interpret" means to use in a different way that can be used, like if the same data can be understood in different ways, but no, that data is the same for every person and for every computer program, it is not interpreted, like you are interpreting when you interpret text as code, because it is the same data but used in different ways, or when an image is in a different format like .png or .jpg and if it interprets in with the wrong one and the data is made for only one of the formats it might not understand it, but that is clearly not what you means, so "interpret" is not the right word either. you clearly don't know anything about any of this and are making yourself look stupid, I'm trying to help you but you really should stop talking about things that you don't know about, I am an actual software developer, please, just please.... just don't.

@@NeroDefogger wut... There are loads of conceptual animations out there of nebulas... the AI isn't predicting anything here other than how it thinks that this particular image should move.. which will obviously be based on whatever the AI deems is appropriate for the image. “Right’s”. Yes….. People have rights to the videos (with audio) that they freely upload to UKposts after blindly checking the “I accept the terms and conditions” box. That’s a good one.
@AlexPBenton
@AlexPBenton 3 місяці тому
Tokens are just concepts, like “dog”. We use them ourselves as humans, they’re a shorthand way of describing things, behaviors, etc. the reason why we use the term “tokens” rather than “words” for ai is because it’s easier for the ai to translate text into abstract tokens before “reading” it. Think of it as a more abstract form or words that doesn’t use letters. In programming, the same thing happens when compiling code. The compiler “reads” the code and converts all the variable/function names into tokens, which are easier to store and manage than strings, but aren’t really readable for humans.
@sausas8209
@sausas8209 3 місяці тому
@@AlexPBenton I think OP is criticizing how they trained the models and got these tokens by scraping the internet, etc. For example, van Gogh, along with millions of living artists, did not accept these terms and conditions, and a lot of artists personal style of expression are even trademarked and copyrighted. IMHO it's not that much different from how it always has worked, as people sample pieces of music to make new songs, get inspired by other artists style and some times straight up copies it, which is the very foundation of artistic innovation, but a lot of people feel different.

As a marketer, I feel ambivalent about this. On one hand, a tool like this could revolutionise paid social ads, and allow organisations without the necessary budget to create highly customised video ads. On the other hand, it’s Google, and whatever Google does is usually a black box (even with advertising, you don’t really know what your Performance Max ads are actually doing). This tech is great, but Google’s way of showcasing it without releasing it to the public is rather disappointing.
