Why are we paying for the clean up that ship has insurance for just this sort of thing. The only reason we would be paying for it is if the government doesn't want the insurance company to investigate because they have something to hide

Biden declared that the Federal Government would pay 100% of the cost to rebuild. I didn't suggest that repairs should be delayed (as you did just to make your insipid insult), I'm questioning why Biden is suggesting that Congress will vote to spend more $ on the FSK Bridge rather than rearranging priorities within the funds that have already been allocated to infrastructure projects with the passing of the latest infrastructure bill. Taxpayers should not have to pick up 100% of the cost of rebuilding the FSK Bridge when the ship is already insured.

Re Baltimore bridge collapse: The Army Corps of Engineers & Navy are helping multiple U.S. States who depend on this port. Federal aid is appropriate. The wealthy who got disproportionate tax breaks from Trump own some of the companies that will benefit. If Congress is worried about the costs, consider returning tax breaks for the wealthy to pre-Trump levels. Congress shouldn't sabotage Biden's efforts at the expense of the wellbeing of the majority of the people.
