Yes. I am grateful too. This is about the level of gain I use 80% of the time and I love Gretsch. Very refreshing in a Gretsch demo.

I just ordered one in Speyside, but I'm a little nervous it's looking lighter and more yellow/natural than their website and the rest of the product photography I've seen. These a really cool guitars and Gretschs sound awesome with some gain. Just old guys complaining on here that you didn’t play the same blues licks they know with a clean tone. Keep up the good work I love my Gretsch and want another one and these guitars look and sound great playing something different

I own an orange 5622T. Very versatile.This is why I bought it. I needed a work horse type of guitar.One that can do a couple of tones from borrowing genres. I aim from clean to surf,fuzzed,overdriven,smooth,funk-ish high ends,blues,dark tones. I can tap into all these tones satisfactory without changing instruments. Bad things to say about it: Of course,because of the trem system,getting it set up is very important. My pickup selector seems to be a bit off.When I change from neck to bridge,sometimes the bridge is very weak in signal.This is probably a small issue with the wiring. What made this happen? -Not sure,I treat my instruments with respect. Would this be a re-occuring problem with this line of guitar? -doubt it,my issues with the pickup selector are probably a fluke or an overlooked problem during quality control. The signal pickup selector works for the bridge pickup about 5.5 times out of 10.So ot definetly needs fixing.Again though,easy to overlook during quality control. This has been my testament on the purchase. I like it but I have to get it looked at for the trem system to keep in tune better and to fix the pickup selector issue.

I’d imagine selected needed an upgrade … they are not the highest end on these level series of Chinese gretch production … and bigsby is bigsby … no direct replacement but Dusenberg les trem 2 is they way I go now over bigsby

Why are only some colours available with the V-stoptail? I'd love a Georgia Green or a Dark Metallic Cherry G5622, but I'd prefer not to have a Bigsby, but the hardtail is only available in lefthand??

These are gorgeous guitars, but I’m left handed and they only have a Georgia green finish. I would love to have one with an aged walnut finish but sadly that just doesn’t seem possible. Us lefties have such a struggle. :(((

I'm lefty too amd I have the same complaint as you. We have no choice. I love that model, and I'd like to have a wider variety of colours, that Georgia Green looks good, but I'd choose something diferent.

Seems like all the commenters say the same thing, they don’t like distortion for Gretsch demos. I personally like a little crunch and thought this demo was cool. But Gretsch should probably listen to its base...

I’d say the Gretsch ‘base’ as you mention are expecting to hear something a la true hollow body. However, I’m guessing the center block demo here showcases its ability to easily handle the dirt. I think there are plenty of other videos floating around with clean tones.

It’s a great guitar and I can’t speak for all the variations but the bristol fog came out CONSIDERABLY darker than what was originally advertised. I don’t know why that is the case but even in well lighted conditions it doesn’t come anywhere close to what was shown in pre order images or what was used for this promo.

I recently bought one in speyer & love the tone, action & playability. Only issue is that it has a tendency to detune frequently, especially noticable if you use the Bigsby. Does anyone experience this & do you know how to fix this problem. Would be greatly appreciated not only to me but to anyone else who has this issue. Thanks

Check the nut, it's most likely poorly cut or 'dirty' nutslots. I asume you've stretched up the strings when putting on a new set. But back to the nut. Take the strings out of the nutslots - take a bussinescard and gently rub the edge through the slot to remove any dirt or filedust from the slot. Next take a pencil and rub it in the slot, the graphite will reduce friction in the nut making the strings move smoothly when you use the bigsby. There is also a product called Nutsauce you can use instead of the pencil. If you're not confident about messing with your pride and joy, take it to your local luthier/guitarshop and let them check the nut. If you're a heavy bigsby user you might want to look into upgrading to a rollerbridge for even smoother whobble. Most tuning issues come from the nut, even on the other big named higher end guitars. These Gretsches really are great guitars, especially with those broadtrons. They seem to have a different dynamic range compaired to the filtertrons.

I have one with the Bigsby. swapped the tuners to Grovers, got a Biggsfix steel bearing roller and put graphite in the nut slots. I also swapped to 11s. Seems to be better now.

They’re nice looking... but that’s not the great gretsch sound. I understand that a lot of modern players prefer to use effects pedals but there are a lot of us who go for a more traditional, cleaner sound. You should display both. Or is it that this level of guitar is better suited to more contemporary taste?

I think you're right. The broad tron picks have a "broader" range supposedly and their filtertrons are the classic gretsch sound.

@@malooly my pov is at a certain point, the guitar loses its unique tonal characteristics when overly process. The Gretsch G5 series can sound really full and distinct when amplified properly with few outboard effects. The G6 series, like the 6128, are awesome straight 8nto the amp.no pedals.

I own a orange T-series. I like the clean tone on it.I think it has good versatility to it. I go for tones from clean,to surf,fuzz,overdriven. Always been a neck pickup type of guy. It can go from jazzy to explosive very well. This is why I bought it.I needed a work horse guitar for gigging.This does the trick.Although I need to have it set up to stay in tune a little better,I love it otherwise.I feel like I can play 5 or 6 contrasting genres quite well with it.

Who would buy one? The vast majority of players who don't choose guitars primarily based on the chemical formulation of the finish. Not criticising if that's your thing. But most people don't care - or at least don't care that much.

I literally spent 2 days playing every fender and Gibson at 2 guitar stores. None of them truly fit what I wanted like the G5622T. As soon as I realised I did not stop playing it for 30 mins straight,I knew I found the guitar I wanted. ...so yeah,there would be a reason to get one from this series.

Why do Gretsch almost always demo their guitars with awful distortion. It doesn't do anything to demonstrate "That Great Gretsch Sound" which should sell them.

These guitars have Broadtron pickups which have more mids & more output than Filtertrons. You obviously cannot appreciate the differences in the two pickups. I'd venture a guess that you're not a Gretsch player/owner. Imhwo, they sound fabulous: similar to Filtertrons, enough to keep the Gretsch twang/jangle, but more mid driven for a very unique sound. If it's not to your liking, move on.
