This is still a new process for me . There’s a lot I don’t know about how my devices work. Things change, apps are updated and new advancements in technology happen. I learn something new every time i see Dr. Frink.

Exactly, we wearer do mot many details about our HA, and audiologists (visited already two fir total of $550 charge) are not helpful at all in helping to understand HA operations, how options work, demonstrate in comparison, and etc. audiologist followed only a software routine and ask for more following visits in order to charge you more. The expensive cost of HA itself is added to audiologist exuberant cost in combination of no Medicare insurance coverage. You got the idea boycott audiologist and just go to Costco where good as prescription HA are much cheaper and the dispenser help is similar to audiologists without the higher fees. Good luck

@@user-mz2kb7rj5q There’s a lot i do know about my devices that i learned from Dr. Frink AuD. However, there are updates all the time. Also, when checking prices and features at Costco, only one device had all the features that i wanted when purchasing hearing aids and it still was not an acceptable option to me. I realized that hearing aids are expensive but quality is important also. The consumer needs to be knowledgeable about the device they are purchasing. It’s kind of like buying a car. You need to know something about what features you want and how much you are willing to pay for those features. You can buy a basic car if you are satisfied with the features the basic car has. You need to check to see that you are comparing similar items. There are certain features that if you don’t have them, you will not be satisfied with the product regardless of the price. You also need to determine how many services are included in the price and how much additional assistance you need to get the best possible experience with your new hearing equipment. I know i am receiving excellent personal care and can always receive answers from my audiologist, Scot Frink, who is a part of Dr. Cliff’s Hearing Up Network. And if he does not have an immediate solution, he will check with the manufacturer and get me an answer. I visited 4 different hearing specialists and audiologists to find the perfect solution for me. I have been fitted with the correct devices and am working with a caring professional who has my best interests at heart. I am grateful to have found the correct audiologist for me as this is going to be a longterm relationship. I have been wearing hearing aids for only one year and feel i still have a lot to learn.

@@user-mz2kb7rj5q How do you take from the Laura's comment that you should boycott audiologists? She said she learns something new every time she visits her audiologist, and to me in a positive way. I think you're projecting your bad experience onto someone else's and getting it wrong.

@@sfrink1425 you did not get the big picture about the audiologist business exclusively-for-profit on expense of the patient needs wearing, understanding and fitting their medical devices. It’s mot only my unfortunate experience to be forced to seek an alternative help and support to fit and understand better how to use my HA. We know many other seniors that spent thousands of dollars and still disoriented, not knowing how to use even being fit by audiologists. The fact that Medicare and non-Medicare insurances are not covering such important medical devices says all. One of course can learn about wearing HA from Dr. Cliff zillions of videos. But the fact remains, many wearing HA do not know why they are wearing, how to control their expensive HA, going again and again back to hearing offices and this situation just profit non-regulated for profit audiologist offices.

What really happens at audiologist appointments is regularly forcing the patient to return multiple times so the audiologist office profit-driven business can charge you multiple times. For example what I have experienced is that the first office visit skipped to-address obvious mis-firs of my HA. When I asked to be fixed my larger size receiver wires later the audiologist warned me it will cost me a new $290 office visit cost. Instead to pick right away the right receiver wire during my first visit this audiologist (on the list of Dr. Cliff recommended best practices audiologist in my local area) asked on the phone to come again and charge me again for something that needed to be fixed at the first place. Be aware of all these profit only driven audiologists questionably helpful with your medical device!
