I've a suggestion for cleaning off the rust on your Price Albert Tobacco cans. The safest method is to submerge the can in bath of Citric Acid. Leave it alone for about 8 hrs, then remove the can from the bath. Next rinse the can off with water. Lastly, using a soft bristle brush, lightly brush the can with water and allow the can to dry.

My grandpa showed me how to tell how old the tobacco was on the bottom of the Prince Albert can. I never thought those old cans would be collectable.

The little bottle with the cork in it is from a small town that is right by me in Illinois. When you showed that one I got excited. I know you had a great time playing in the dirt. My house was built in 1921. I would love to metal detect in this area because I have had old bottles and stuff come up every now and then. Not sure how they just come up on their own but they do. Have fun!

Close to 50 years ago, my cousins and I would walk along the back roads in West Virginia and find Prince Albert cans laying in the ditches.

That dog tag is cool. One of my favorite finds is a dog tag from 1949. One of these days I am going to go to the library and find who the owners were from the number.

Those Prince Albert cans remind me of my uncle Zirk I use to visit them in the summer and that’s all he smoked driving the crazy roads o W Va 80 mph rolling a smoke the memories are Great he use to throw his cans under the shed. Thank you for the memories

We use to do prank phone calls my friends and I when we were young and one of our favorites to ask the person on the other end was if they had ‘ Prince Albert in a Can’ and if they said Yes, we would say ‘ You better let him out before he suffocates’ ! Than hang up . Yes it was a simpler life all those years ago 🤣

When I was a kid, I'm 70 now, my dear grandpa used to roll his own cigarettes with Prince Albert tobacco. They lived so far out in the country that they just had an old dump site on their property, it was loaded with Prince Albert Cans, very fond memories Nuggetnoggin. I forgot to say he lived in Kansas.

Those rocks holding up the house!! I’m surprised the health and safety people haven’t been round, to tell them to have better supports. In those days they just put houses together on a whim and hoped for the best it didn’t collapse. 😂😂 Very interesting what you find. I so love history. I can imagine a very smart tubby guy , in a suit, with a beard wearing a pocket watch, smoking the Royal Albert cigars, and drinking the whisky chucking them away when he’s done.

Geeez Michael you should wear a dusk mask under tight spaces like that, you don’t want to be dealing with COPD later in life. Stay safe so that you can keep doing what you’re doing. 1922 dog tag is fantastic, same with your bottles they will look awesome when you clean them up. You would do a video on the items you cleaned up. Show what you did and how they turned out. Great find ! 👍

Juice or Jews harp sometimes called a mouth harp. My grandpa smoked Prince Albert for years. I have several vintage pristine cans like you found and one about the size of a can of Crisco shortening. I also found Prince Albert rolling papers when we cleaned out the house. He had a room in the barn where he would toss his empty cans. When the corner filled up he would take them somewhere. This was way before recycling was even a thing so we have no clue where he took them. When my momma was growing up, they had a ditch that they would throw empty bottles into. I just wish she was able to tell me the location of that ditch!

If you go behind old farm houses, Inn's, even hotels they used to dump bottles, bricks, all kinds of stuff and your sure to find cool stuff, I did it years ago in upstate NY and found cool tins, milk glass, and really old soda bottles as well as medicine ones, good luck!

I know so many places in NC to detect near my house. I find a lot of coins detecting on the side of the road where mailboxes would be…I guess years ago some people would put coins in mailbox for stamps and post man would drop them sometimes. I love to go where an old house was or an old store yard. Love metal detecting. I actually didn’t find out about Nugget Noggin until I was watching a mudlark video on the Thames a while back. I was tickled to see you are in NC. Keep up the good work. Would love to catch up with you one day in My neck of the woods between Ayden and Snow Hill area in eastern NC.
