There are times, especially when discussing social issues, where Spike Lee can become adversarial, to the point where he comes off as aggressive, but he always speaks constructively and intelligently. I just think some folks have a hard time with the passion he can inject in his dialog, and that has given him a reputation of being stern and maybe unapproachable. But Lee's the kind of guy that if you ever bumped into him on the streets of NY, he'd acknowledge you and maybe even have a chat if he had time. He's an amazing human being, and an unbelievable contributor to the film industry. I only wish he made more movies.

Sharpe: Spike's always been laid back and funny as hell, and he's always had mad charisma, which is why he's usually so much fun to watch in his films, and interviews. One thing I've always liked about Spike is the fact that he's always given zero fucks what anybody thinks about him, and he continues to speak truth to power even to this day----watch what he said at the Cannes Film Festival last year about a certain idiot in the W.H.

How about this, enjoy watching a video about a man who produced films we remember well, or reminisce those formative years as our memories of growing up. Hold that thought, and remember in those moments. Race was never an issue with the people you knew, and it shouldn't be now. Forget all the nonsense people are trying to peddle today. You must know more about entertainment than every American industry. It must be lonely being that good of a critic. I’m a Queen fan. @@gibskeinspass3743 Which ending? The point where it should have ended or the extra one sided out of context BS they piled in afterwards? Blackkklansman was a great movie pretty much ruined by forcing a singular point of view down the throats of the audience through its opening and closing scenes. The actual film does a good job of showing how pointless blind hate and the inability to compromise can be, and how such attitudes aren't just on one side of the fence. The ending scene illustrates this, where the female lead tells the male lead that she can't be with him because he is a cop (and therefore bad), despite him doing far more for the cause she proclaims to stand for than she did. This film shows the reality that people of the same mindset exist on both sides, and the problem isn't simply white racism and intolerance, but also intolerance and hate on the part of black people as well. That message is completely undermined and ruined by those first and last scenes of the film where the focus is entirely on white racism and nothing else. The ending may be powerful, but the message is both forced and bad one.

@@thricefan89 some people are just looking to find racism like spike lee here. Though I don't care if your canadian but you should at least know the difference between a true american film like Hostiles, or 2001: A space odyssey. hell even quintin terenteno with inglorious bastards it great. killing nazis is the most american thing you can do. (if you think I am serious I am not I am joking, though you should watch inglorious bastards because its really good)
