I always laugh a bit when the “Perfect Aryan Race” is described. Blond hair and blue eyes, perfect physical shape. While there may have been men that looked like this somewhere in the SS, the orchestrators of WWII were the opposite. Dark hair and brown eyes, and some rather portly and some with an obvious handicap. I am basically Western European, my mother’s side came to the US from the Rhineland Platz area of Germany to South Carolina in the 1830’s.
