I think this is gonna be a good game despite it being much different than the core series

So are people still treating this game like it's the most vile and sickening thing ever to be created or have they actually learned to calm down and realise it's a harmless spin-off that will not affect the franchise in the slighest?

Like everyone else I was skeptical at first, but this looks like a fun spin-off that retains much of the Pikmin atmosphere for and charm.

To be honest, I'm actually liking the direction this game went with. The Pikmin games (aside from 2) were always pretty stressful giving you a limit of time to complete the game. Hey! Pikmin! seems to be a calm and mellow version of the main series, which I can get behind and support. One more thing I do like is how expressive the Pikmin seem to be, which I just adore. Definitely can't wait for this to launch

played the demo and was pleasantly surprised. it definitely is different but somehow manages to still feel like pikmin, i think it's a great take on a portable version of the game :')

I played the demo and this game is pretty fun. Really the perfect way to make Pikmin work as a 2D game.

Oh man I'm so excited for this game!!!!

The demo was pretty fun! The game looks very accessible for those who haven't played any of the series before! Heck, my wife Jess played through the whole demo and had a blast while at the Nintendo Summer of Play tour! Also, Hocotate pronounced as "Ho-ko-tah-tay" Interesting!

I got this in my recommendations and nearly thought this was a new Pikmin game lol

I think this looks great. I love the charm of Pikmin, but could never personally get into the gameplay of the core series. I like being able to get a chance to play in a style I'm more used to, and experience the charm of Pikmin.

I'm a Pikmin fan and this doesn't even upset me at all. In fact this looks pretty interesting, and I love how they brought the Piklopedia back from Pikmin 2.

See this is the difference between Metroid Prime Federation Force and Hey! Pikmin. Hey! Pikmin kept the series's original art style, kept the original protagonist, and tried something new with the gameplay since it's a spinoff. It took the classic gameplay of having an army of Pikmin, and changing the puzzles to be 2D instead of 3D. Metroid Prime Federation Force had an ugly artstyle, and the co-op combat did not fit Metroid. Metroid has always been about the exploration and isolation, with a creepy factor. Throw in four space marines and no Samus and make everyone chibis and it takes all that creepiness and loneliness away.

eh still kind of mixed. It doesn't look particularly bad but it doesn't look great either, and feels somewhat like a generic puzzle platformer.

They should slap on the title "baby's first pikmin game" it would fit

I think this could be good, from the demo I question some of the design choices of not using the microphone or the shoulder buttons to rotate pikmin, but I shall wait for the full game to see what they do in the end

2:31 i see white and purple in the onion maybe they are some kind of special pikmin outside of the main ones (red, yellow, blue and the new rock and winged)? Maybe they'll be like bulbmin. But let's be honest. They make the game to waaay easy(except pikmin 2 that one is incredibly hard). If nintendo decides not to use them anymore i would understand it. Or it could just be a shade of grey and a shade of blue and its just the lighting

I never understood why this title got so much hate. It's exactly what I expected from a 2D Pikmin game for an underpowered handheld console like the 3DS. I would 100% recommend the game to anyone who is interested in starting a 3DS collection.
