I too would like to know more about the writing process. I bet they have many writers, depending on what they are covering. But it all appears very uniform, when there's just the one guy narrating these videos. It's very clever.

They need to stop trying to ground these films in “realism” it’s why they all fail. Just do an outright straightforward translation of the original source material.

Fr though. (Almost) All anime and video game movies flop because, despite the fact their source material isn’t held down by any reality, they always try to make it fit reality. That or it’s because they’re trying to squeeze hours worth of content into a 2 hour production (ex. The Last Airbender (live action)).

Outworld was filmed in a South Australian coal pit...and, funnily enough, looks 100% like a South Australian coal pit. But don't forget about all the other great locations in the film, like: a cave, a sandpit, a high school gymnasium, the desert, a hamburger joint, and a demountable home in Gary, Indiana.

This franchise started going south since they sold it to WB. Scorpion, from badass hellish wraith with a mysterious backstory (MKI/II, Midway) to meek, distraught family man dressed like a hobo (WB). I really wish someone picked up the Rebirth project, best MK we ever had after the first two games.

I love how they needed an awesome fatality but didn't want to kill off a classic character or fan favourite so just had Natara show up like twice in the movie with next to no lines and get thrown head first into Kung Lao's hat. Also what's with Shang Tsung not shape-shifting once? That's like his signature thing. I enjoyed the movie all the same, can't wait to see Johnny Cage in the sequel

You always hear people say "lol u like the plot of mortal kombat" but no, it's about the plot, it's about the setting. The setting is very cool, with a ton of tech vs sword vs sorcery, weird alternate dimensions, ancient societies...
