In the 1950's as a kid I would 'frog' in the middle of South Dakota, USA. The dealer in town would buy from me and others at .50 cents a pound and when he had enough to ship he would put them on the train alive destined for New York. I have never visited New York but on occasion I do think about a Brooklynite feasting on my frog legs from many years ago. Your presentation was fantastic and so enjoyable to watch. Noal Farms gets it done. Wonderful.

Wow! I am from Louisiana where frog legs are considered a delicacy here in Cajun and Creole cuisines. We have some frog farms, but most people go frogging at night for frogs in the swamps in a boat armed with a flash light and a net. Thanks for posting!

Went frog giggin with my friend, his dad, and his dads buddy at night. We had some ice picks we used to skewer the frogs. Well my friend's dad's buddy decided to prank my friend's dad. So we turn off the flashlight and waited for him around a bend where this big tree was and hid behind it. When he got to the tree, my friend's dad's buddy jumped out and and screamed in his face with the flashlight point up to make him look scary. The guy freaked out and he accidentally stabbed the dude in the arm 😂

Are you sure about that? You will realise that, nature can be unimaginably cruel when you study it. Take for instance, pack of wild dogs eating their prey alive. It can take hours upon hours for the prey to finally die.

I remember in college I took a class that discussed non western agriculture. Particularly slash and burn, and Asian aquaculture. I always liked the idea of raising shrimp, crawfish, or frogs in a paddy for rice. Doing two things at one time and the shrimp or frogs will reduce pests in the water, and fertilize the rice. Very sustainable. Permaculture may not feed the world but it can take pressure off of industrial food mono crop culture. This is large scale but most of us with a decent yard could raise some kind of animal for food. Chickens, rabbits, fish, crawfish, frogs, turtles.

not all Asian love eating insects.. occasionally some do and mostly outside city people..Most Asian foods are 70% you'll find at your typical Walmart. what you see on UKposts is extreme it's not everyday food and eating insects is not an everyday meal...Most Asian eat pork, chicken, and beef just like you do. if you need to know in Africa they eat pets , insect too...their bush meat market made asian wet market look nothing...

Noal, may I ask to put the text a little higher so it is not under the red yt line? Sometimes I have to stop or even return to read. Anyway, I am AMAZED about that work. I had streetfoodfrogs twice in Thailand and between you and me - the stuff looked like from a cold pond right into hot oil. Somewhere they fry them and later on the market "warmfry" them for the client. 15-20 in a bag. It tasted like potatochips with dried meat - somewhat neutral. Thanks as always!

The reason why frogs' legs are outlawed in Europe. The animals' lower bodies were chopped off without anaesthesia. The rest of the frog, still alive, was then disposed of in the rubbish, where it died miserably. But that doesn't stop the French and Belgians from importing them, even from such factories. Here the frog is immobilised in ice water and then dismembered alive. And this is your dream?

This was interesting, but I can't imagine having to get into a pool filled with frogs, especially that guy who was collecting them for harvest. That would totally freak me out. I noticed that they are only really collecting the legs for selling, but what do they do with the rest of the frog? Do they use it for pet food? Do they feed it to the other frogs (although I wouldn't think that would be a good thing...)? Do they just waste it? I'd like to know.

@@scholarlyreader383 04:00 i was missing that they certainly splayed something like a pellet feed, although it is just a moment. that is no way as the general breeding method of frogs, but maybe this way is better to stock raising meat, not as a pet. but... more than half of pellets sink to the bottom of the pond and would be rotten. perhaps, this "healthy and delicious meat" is produced for celebrities in developed countries, and it would give them many times more profitable than traditional shrimp farming.
