Portugal does not have these problems because they do not directly border Morocco and migrants prefer to move to richer countries in Europe or stay in Spain. Actually that's not entirely correct. Speaking about the period between 10th to 12th centuries the Muslims were actually the majority in the peninsula (numerically speaking). For example the cities of Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba, which were almost entirely muslim cities, they were among the biggest cities in all europe. Sevilla was for instance the biggest city in the continent.
