love how brooks takes the knowledge from the massacre and using it to better the world. he took the role right after the shooting and ran with it. from telling the media the truth of columbine, from working in media, to today. it’s crazy to see him grow over the passed 20 years become the person he is today. it’s unique that some people involved with columbine refuse to say the shooters names, but to brooks he’s just “my friend, dylan”.big congrats to brooks and his wife for their beautiful child!

God Bless Him!! 🙏 I have so much respect for Brooks Brown. He has been through so so much and he is a stronger man through it all. I'm reading his book, " The Truth Behind Death At Columbine". I love it. It really brings into perspective of what he went through with Eric and Dylan. How Eric went bad and Dylan followed. Brooks became the survivor of a horrible tragedy with two friends and lived to tell his story and about what really happened that day. ❤️

Nothing but love and support for this man. He went through a terrible experience and has not stopped using his platform to connect with people and try and stop it happening again. I hope he is at peace. He is a poster man for Things Get Better. He is trying to make the world a better place and we must protect him at all costs.

He proably knew Eric Harris was serious when he said he liked him and to go home. He knew how to instinctively recognize threat by the irregular heightened sensory "vibes" Eric was radiating. It's built into our brain since early man. He'd spent a lot of time around Harris. There's no way he felt nothing. He felt a twinge (a disturbance in the freaking force. we all have it to some extent.) We're animals. Brooks was wary from what Harris was emitting on a SUBVERBAL level. He just can't say so. If he copped to it, imagine how many people's minds would drift and obsess on him as a "if you'd only told or done something that morning, my child (brother, sister, etc.) would still be alive." It makes sense for everyone involved, and the survivors, for him to not say so. It's more beneficial to everyone's lives.

I think he suffers from "survivor's guilt."

You can tell talking about Columbine is still really hard for him. Good for him for trying to talk about it anyway. I'm sure it's cathartic, in a way.

I have decided to wait and watch the video after I finished reading. Thank you for finding the courage and the strength to share your story with the world. While your arguments about narrative, agency and event went over my head in a way, I was captivated by your presentation. You have a true gift for both spoken and written expression, and much charisma. I'm so happy to see you've continued to develop in this area since the debate club. I wanted to share my thoughts with you (in the off chance that you read the comments to this video). I am awed and inspired by your, and your parents', unwavering courage and unflinching honesty in the face of an unimaginable tragedy, slander and lies. Facing grief, the pointed fingers of misguided and misinformed grieving friends, apathetic administration and corrupt police, legislators and politicians as just a teenager and standing tall through it all... you are an inspirational figure for me. *Unpopular Opinion* : Eric didn't tell Brooks to leave because he liked him but quite the opposite. Eric spoke about being thrilled that survivors would live the rest of their lives with PTSD. So why would that apply? Because Eric knew Brooks little brother had that first lunch period and would be blown apart by the bombs. He absolutely knew Brooks would have to live with abandoning his own brother when he knew there was a clear danger.

People say Brooks got lucky that Eric let him go, sure, but Eric still didn't like the guy. He more than likely let him off only because killing him there and then would have ruined their plan. Remember, this was supposed to be a bombing originally and not a school shooting. Had Eric shot Brooks Brown everyone around would have been alerted and up in smoke would have gone their original plan. I highly doubt that Eric let him go because he suddenly forgot about the fact that he literally despised him. It was just much more convenient to basically tell him to go away. Had Brooks been inside the library he would have been killed by Eric 100% unless Dylan convinced him to let him go.

Why do I get the feeling looking at the pictures of Dylan and Eric after death, that Eric shot Dylan first, then himself. I really don't think Dylan wanted to die or even kill.
