I was molested from age 4 to 9 almost every day. It was my babysitter's son and every time I was dropped off I was always vocal about how I didn't want to stay. My mum loved/was friends with the babysitter and didn't look into it. A lot of people will protect abusers because they have a charm or whatever reason and will neglect the victims. That's why I'll always be thankful for people like this man who invest their time and lending an ear for little kids who have to go through this with no one listening to them.

He didn’t expose jimmy savile. The only reason he was ever exposed is because of a welsh journalist named Meirion Jones and a reporter named Liz MacKean who worked for the BBC and investigated Savile for years, but the BBC refused to let them air their findings, because Savile had just died, and they were doing tributes to him on BBC. So they gave the story and all their research to this guy because they felt the story itself was more important than who releases it and receives the credit for it. But to hear this guy not even mention their names and take all the credit for himself, when the only thing he is known for literally fell in his lap by happenstance, only due to their hard work is despicable.

My great aunt sadly spent most of her life in mental institutions in London and family would visit her and one time Savile was filming just around the corner from my great aunts mental institution and members of the family told her this and reportedly her face drained of colour and she snapped “don’t you ever go near that man. he’s a very bad man. Pedophiles often are clever enough to go where the children and the vulnerable are. They go into teaching, childcare, janitorial work, the Catholic Church, etc. Saville knew that with the right connections, his television show and charity work he could portray the image of a caring man instead of the monster he really was. Often in his interviews he would make strange little comments about “getting away with things” or “being someone else” …many pedophiles are not intelligent enough to rise to this position but the ones who are are definitely the most dangerous.

In '99 I was working with a colleague who'd worked in the local BBC office (out in one of the regions). And the conversation turned to Jimmy Savile and he said that he'd not only met him and found him 'creepy' - but he'd heard rumors' floating around the local BBC office about his peccadillos and about one local DJ had worked with Savile and couldn't stand to be in the same room as him. This DJ apparently was back in the day, mates with Alan 'Fluff' Freeman - who hated Savile with a vengeance and warned the other DJ 'don't leave your kids alone with him'. So Savile wasn't nearly as shifty as people thought. I still found it difficult to believe - even after a second acquaintance of mine shared gossip on Savile a couple of months later.

He got access to children in Children's hospitals, deprived kids homes and through his work as a DJ/celebrity. It's in a stunning part of the world with limited housing. There are thousands of where terrible things happened but people buy them every single day. Including houses where child murders took place. So there is nothing weird about buying that place. The new owners did however rip everything out and were going to completely remodel it but can't at people keep breaking in and smashing up their work. They are elderly and wanted to retire to somewhere beautiful and are now too afraid they'll be attacked in the home. But anyway I guess you answered what sort of idiot blames a house.

I remember watching one particular episode of Jim'L Fix It at boarding school in about 78-79. At the end one of the boys asked, 'shouldn't we write in' and we began talking about what we were to ask for. When I was asked I stated that I didn't want to do this because the show was for poor kids who had less, and this started a new round of discussions as to whether we should. After all on Jim'L Fix It you could do things children could not do, like visit aircraft carriers or riding tanks. It was those episodes we liked the best and I did admit I would like to do those things. Then I noticed one of the boys to my immediate right sinking lower in his chair, he looked sullen. I remember this very clearly even now, and i remember asking him what he would ask for, if at all. He replied that he wanted nothing to do with Jimmy Saville or Jim'L Fix It. I innocently asked why as the show and its presenter was highly regarded. He stopped a moment, and from memory I could later see he was gathering his courage to speak, and then said his father worked at the BBC and had warned him never to have anything to do with Jimmy Saville, and after a pause admitted that his father had told him to warn other children at school and wherever he went. He looke quite remorseful at that, clearly his father had pressed upon him the need to make sure this warning was made and he was internally conflicted about speaking out. I asked why, not in any way understanding how this should be so. Was not the BBC a major orqanisation, what could possibly go wrong? The boy could not quite explain what the danger was, only that kids who met Saville were interfered with and ruined. I scoffed at that and flatly said that cant be true, the BBC would know, the BBC would do something. The boy could not really answer that, but insisted that because I had said that and believed that I should especially not have anything to do with Jimmy Saville and made me promise not to wire in to Jim'L Fix It. I gave that promise willingly, as I had no intention to do so anyway, for other reasons. I cannot say this warning saved me from anything, I never met Saville, and indeed quite forgot this conversation, but it remained in the back of my memory to be remembered when news of Savilles crimes emerged. I thank this BBC father/manager for his warning, but do not know who he is, I cant remember who the boy was either, his face is just a shadow to me now, but I remember the manner of his presence that day in the TV room of my boarding school and many other details of the encounter. I think the takeaway was that while Saville was protected at the top, many people in the middle were doing what they could do limit his access and damage. The fact that he was still able to do what he did just further highlights the culpability of those in senior positions in the BBC, this went beyond cover up, and onto persistent damage control and evident limitation of those who would act.

@CivilizedWarrior 1 year ago (edited) He didn’t expose jimmy savile.

It’s believed that he had a bunch of people killed but of course most of the evidence was destroyed cuz he was doing the investigations on his own crime.
