It'd probably be less insufferable if the battle theme didn't loop after like thirty seconds

That's why I love having it in Strikers. Having the tracks on random makes this one so much better since you aren't gonna hear it in every fight and the short loop works better in an action game where it's not as likely to be repeated over and over in every fight.

I swear to god going through some dungeons and reaching dead end and getting punished with a random encounter drove me insane, 10/10 would encounter again

If your not getting swarmed by encounters in the first person games then something is wrong

I've always liked games that allow you to assign a higher MP number than HP number. Even if it's just fluff or artificial inflation. It makes the character feel more in tune with Magic than they are physically, which helps drive a feeling or narrative around the character, and tells you a lot about their playstyle alone.

@@Arkansym Or having a character that can't have MP at all. So you always have a big fat 0MP among the stats reminding you "hey. this guy works differently, watchu gonna do about that?".

@@Omar123Extras I honestly want to play P 1 and 2 but old RPGs have aged horribly because of that. I played Xenogears on an emulator recently, almost dropped it because the encounter rate was driving me insane.

@@fluorideinthechat7606 Pretty solid in my experience, his melee has narrow but long range, ranged is the same as the boy with earring and he can use Gozu-Tennoh (no he can't actually). Only problem, he was taking the most exp from battles making the rest of the team underleveled Edit: no he can't

random battles is just the awful way Japanese games like to do progression, instead of having fewer more meaningful encounters and quests, they just bombard you with thousands of brainless, trivial fights, it's truly awful.

Now get on that Persona 2 duo-logy and then see if P1 is still a masterpiece. Best way to play is either a PSP emulation or PSX translation emulation of the first P2 game.

The PS1 version is bad. The PSP version made me change my mind and I'm enjoying it now
