Miley Cyrus starred as Hannah Montana in the most popular Disney Channel show in history. Getting the role was her biggest dream and is the reason why we all know her today. However she did not own her name "Miley Cyrus." This made me question her "wild phase," in 2012 -2014 and if it was a business move or simply her trying to escape her past.

I think the legal name change was more like Disney owning the name Miley Cyrus, so she couldn't release or perform anything under that name independantly, or not produced by Disney. Then Miley Cyrus was her legal name. The loophole is you are free to use your actual name in any terms you wish. It's your name, so can you create material or perform under it; no-one can say you can't identify using your legal name.

i think the reason miley didn’t have a mental breakdown like other child stars is because she understood what was happening to her, she knew she was having an identity crisis from growing up as a character. this happens to many child stars but they don’t rationalise it in the same way miley did, when she speaks in that interview she acknowledges what happened to her. other former child stars can just be unhappy and confused and don’t know why because everyone around them is still in their head. miley is a strong intelligent person to be able to have things not go that way for her

Right? Britney was victimized the most! Who knows what they did to her! Britney claims to this day they injected her with drugs and other horrific things not to mention she claims they robotically cloned her. The rumor that she died was debunked by Justin and doctors in the 90’s and Britney herself has mocked those rumors and proved it’s still her because why would her family control a clone when a clone would automatically listen to them? Clones have no free will so they wouldn’t rebel so obviously our Britney has been with us all along plus clones can’t get pregnant because even biological clones don’t have the reproduction to create a baby. Cloners wouldn’t be dumb enough to do that. My dad is a physical scientist and explained this to me. If someone is truly cloned, their DNA may be the same, but they are basically a robot. They have no soul. A normal human being can’t live or breathe without a soul or spirit. A biological clone can’t produce children because they are controlled by technology and programmed from birth. So those people saying Britney died in the 90’s have a screw loose somewhere especially since Britney debunked it herself but yeah Miley was blessed. Out of all the Disney stars she’s the ONLY one who made it and survived without a breakdown. She’s one strong person 💕

I would imagine they also saw the show as her first real big break, especially at first. She was basically unknown to us until HM. I also doubt they expected her fame to blow up as huge as it did & so quickly. The other problem is how much these companies can take advantage of a musician when their musical career is directly tied to a character they own. I heard of the same thing happening to the biggest Mexican pop group Rebelde/RBD who had sold out shows worldwide but weren’t really making much money & certainly no royalties because their music careers were directly tied to their Telenovela (also called Rebelde). Again, the artists were young & not huge stars before the show, they also had not expected their music careers to take off the way they did because of the show. Due to contracts, these companies own them for some time.

The contract is key to any business deal. My engineering contacts teach told the class many times, if you can't work things out in the contact while everyone is in love with each other thinking of the millones they'll make together, things won't work in the long run. Always be sure to review the contract and negotiate whatever needs to be changed. Companies generally don't suddenly decide to update the contact to give away profits. That's why they should have contacted a lawyer or consultant upfront if they didn't fully know the industry standards. They even could have limited the terms to year before they'd need to renegotiate. There's lots of options up front, but once the deal is signed, not much can legally be done.

Going through public “bad boy/bad girl” phases seems like a common tactic used by child actors frozen in angelic public images, but most either either simply repel all spotlight or end up fucking up their internal sense of self to the point where they lose their creative drive in addition to their former molds. Miley and Shia LeBeouf are two that seem to have succeeded in rebranding to a more authentic present while not getting lost in the sauce. An Even Stevens video would be rad btw. I know about and am a fan of Shia’s recent art and public-image curation, but I have no clue about Christy Carlson or the almighty Beans.

I find it so disgusting that people see a "Disney girl" cut her hair, dance more "provocatively" and smoke weed, and think the correct response is dragging her, writing condescending articles about her, talking about her as a crazy, out of control "wild girl", shaming her in every way imaginable. I vividly remember seeing a teen magazine during her "can't be tamed"-era that had written on the front page "Miley Cyrus - from babe to bitch". WTF? Yeah, calling her a straight up bitch in a magazine read by ten-year-olds is a great idea. It's a good thing she was intentional about it, and seems to have parents who had her back. So many former child stars are psychologically scarred by the industry and the media.

Heteronormativity was really gross and predatory AF in the 2000s. 🤢🤢🤢

Unfortunately the media is controlled by the same people who control the sick mainstream pop music industry. The media will go after anyone who goes against the grain of the mainstream music industry, and they won't stop until they've either completely tarnished the reputation of whoever they're going after. This is why so many artists/actors wind up dead, as soon as they realise what's going on, that they have no freedom left, they're in too deep to get out of it. They either kill themselves because of the mounting pressure, or they get killed and it's made to look like suicide.

@itscookielookie
@itscookielookie Рік тому
@@DW51380 Sorry for responding to this so late, but here’s my response! Of course most people say that Miley changed during the bangerz era, but she was even changing back during the Can’t be tamed era. To put it in perspective I was a huge fan of Miley since I was literally a toddler. I was obsessed with her by the age of 3, and I loved Hannah Montana. By the time Can’t be tamed came out I was only 5 years old, so I didn’t think anything of it, and I enjoyed watching the music video on the computer. By the time Bangerz came out in 2013, I was 8 years old. I remember everybody freaking out about it, and I even remember seeing them talk about wrecking ball’s music video on the news! I’m a little older than the kids in my grade, so I had a slighty better memory of Hannah Montana, and by the time Bangerz came out Hannah Montana ended 2 years ago. I guess since everybody was freaking out, I just kinda assumed that the kids my age didn’t like what Miley was doing. I was only 8 so I didn’t fully process it, but I knew people didn’t like it, and I didn’t necessarily like it either, but I never held it against her. She was my idol, and i simply couldn’t hate her for it, not at all. I liked the songs off of bangerz too, so I liked it when I heard them on the radio. I continued to watch Hannah Montana, and I even remember grabbing a Hannah Montana book out of my teachers library during the bangerz era. However with all the criticism Miley was facing during that time, I never spoke out about how much I truly loved Miley to the rest of my classmates. So unfortunately as much as I loved Miley, and as much as I continued to watch Hannah Montana, I was separating from her a little bit. Like I said before she was my idol, so I never actually hated her. I still loved her, I just started to grow apart from her for a while. In late 2018 I got Instagram, and I followed her soonly afterwards. Despite everything I still saw her as my idol. Now that I was older what did I think of Miley during the Bangerz era? Nothing much, I was only 13 and I still didn’t hold it against her, as it was in the past. Ever since then I’ve been just as big of a fan of Miley as I was in the beginning. What do I think of bangerz era now that I’m older? Honestly I think that it was completely fine. Miley worked extremely hard, and was finally able to live her own life. She was an adult, and had every single right to do what she wanted. It’s actually sad to see how rude people were to her back then. She was’t doing anything wrong, she was simply just having fun. And in reality as much as people think that Miley has changed, she just grew up, that’s all, and there’s nothing wrong with that. At the end of the day Miley still has a big heart, she always has, and that’s exactly why I will always love Miley ❤️.

@@Hi-levels Says more about the parent then. Unfortunately other people's lives don't revolve around other people's children, and expecting a celebrity to live everyone's squeeky clean opinion on who they should be because "that's impossible" is absolutely insane. All child actors make a transition to adulthood, kids don't stay kids forever and it's remarkable that someone would expect a celebrity to remain seen as one into adulthood. If you deem your child old enough to have unsupervised access to the internet/social media then you also deem them mentally prepared for what they find on it. There are a lot worse things than finding out Hannah Montana grew up and broke out of Disney jail and explored sexuality / recreational activities like most teenagers and early adults her age did.

I was one of the teenagers who looked down her nose at Miley Cyrus but to an extent I could understand why she "went nuts" at the time.
