A static IP address, as opposed to a dynamic IP address, doesn’t change. The single-board computer Raspberry Pi always needs a static IP address if you want to access it with other devices over a long period of time. This refers to the private IP address of the Raspberry IP that is located by a computer within the local network as well as the public IP address of the network via which the Raspberry Pi is accessible on the internet (for example, if it’s being used as a server). But how do you provide Raspberry Pi with an IP address that always remains the same? This guide explains which options you have for linking a static IP address to your Raspberry Pi.

You're the man! Other solutions took me down some ugly DHCP rabbit holes, that tend to be ISP-specific. Your video just showed me how to do it, through the raspi itself, and I was done in 5-10 minutes. In case anyone is wondering, this doesn't just work with the Raspbian OS- it worked just fine on my Retropie setup, with the Kodi port

great tutorial! I have one major issue though: I cant connect to the internet anymore when using the static ip any clue why? i tried cloudflare and google dns and different static ips. connecting to the pi remotely works fine but internet just wont work (the wlan connection to the router works but not towards the internet)

Hey bro. So i need some help. I have connected my raspberry pi to the wifi router for internet, however i also want to connect my android box directly to the raspberry pi through ethernet to access tue content from the raspberry and to avoid delays if i connected via wifi through the router. Is there a way where i can connect the android box to the raspberry pi by ethernet and connect the pi to the router via wifi at the same time.

Are you using any usb adaptor? Then wlan1 else onboard is wlan0
