Nutritional support for bone health:
Ultra Bone Box: www.glutenfreesociety.org/sho...
Ultra Pure Protein: www.glutenfreesociety.org/sho...
After being diagnosed with bone loss, many doctors make a general recommendation for women to take calcium, vitamin D, combined with medications that prevent bone from breaking down. Unfortunately, this over simplified advice can create problems for long term bone health. Because most doctors do not study nutrition, the generic advice above is typically given without further investigation. But the bigger question looming in the background is - Why is bone loss occurring? If this question can be accurately answered, a person can take meaningful action toward building stronger and healthier bone tissue.

Yes! My mother increased her bone density in her late 70s by eating more keto style and taking mineral supplements including boron. It’s a terrible mistake by the medical community telling us that it’s not reversible. Kinda like how they say type 2 diabetes isn’t reversible. Yeah, it’s not if you follow conventional advice!

How do you reverse type 2
@annamartino5681
@annamartino5681 5 місяців тому
@@canadianbrotv1303Diabetes Type 2 is certainly reversible. You can watch multiple Endocrinology and other experts such as Dr Jason Young, William Li, Peter Attia, Andrew Huberman, Mindy Peltz, etc on Weight Loss. 10% of Weight Loss can definitely start reversing Diabetes Type 2 and daily physical activities instead of being on Insulin or Metformin (which you may want to work with Dietitian experts and Endocrinologist on Weight Loss which is not covered by MEDICARE for 65 + and Disabled thanks to how ACA changed the Healthcare system for the worse). Key is Healthy Diet and "Harvard Plate" and then Intermittent Fasting 18/6, 24, 48 every 3-7 days until you Lose Weight and get to Ideal Weight calculated as Height in cm minus Weight in kg should be equal to 100-112 depending on your bone width and body build. The reason why most patients don't get this advice and behavior monitoring by Endocrinology Weight Loss doctors is because MEDICARE insurance doesn't cover such programs. Your Intermittent Fasting has to definitely be slow but consistent, as if you were to do Fasting on Water only for 24-48 hours before the surgery. During Intermittent Fasting you may be only on Water with no other sweet drinks, and Mindy Peltz talks on numerous videos on how she is recommending to do just that.

My girlfriend used to make fun of my "weak bones." I started reading the side effects of albuterol use and noticed that one of the side effects is in fact weak bones. Abuterol isn't the only asthma med that causes bone loss, either. Recently I found that by supplementing extra magnesium in my diet, my asthma effects were reduced by about 90%. I'm really mad that it took me the last 40 years and nearly dying a handful of times from it to find out that I have a better way to control my symptoms. I've had to use my inhaler once in the last month since starting this. Hopefully my bones will regain some of their strength, too. Anyways, posting this for others to be aware of.

So informative! I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and they wanted to put me on something. I refused. I’ve been an athlete my entire life and teach group exercise classes and have always tap danced. I’m on zero medications. I don’t drink soda or alcohol or smoke. Never have. I don’t eat processed food or fried or crappy stuff. Always real food and never fast food. Ever. Don’t do vegan fake stuff either. I haven’t had dairy or gluten for 20 years. I do eat duck eggs and fish. Doctors shake their head why my bone scan showed I was so into osteoporosis. I also take magnesium and iodine and vitamin D. This prompts me to ask for those other test and really dive deep into other nutritional reasons and mineral loss reasons.

The best advice ever! Age 61, weight 58k. After feeling tired and low I set about a fix. Ordered many of the supplements you suggest ( all pure) from British Supplements. Gave up alcohol completely, reduced carbs to 100g per day. Cardio 30 mins most days. I already ate a high quality vegetarian diet (organic) I've put oily fish back in. I've stopped my levothyroxine and hrt. ( may review if necessary) seven weeks in and I feel better than I have in over a decade. It took 5 weeks to start feeling better. Keep up the good advice and thank you. Hoping to avoid the sticky plaster big pharma fix. Love your chanel.

I love Dr. Osborne's fluent explanations going into details and the type of tests he recommends and why! I've been gluten free for years now and recently bumped up my quality protein intake along with regular exercise. Always followed a Mediterranean diet, and never been overweight but as a 54 year old female, I've never felt so healthy and fit in my entire life! I feel so privileged to have this kind of knowledge in my tool box and I'm trying to pass this along to my loved ones but it's not always easy!

Great info, loved this. I'm Canadian and as Canadians we hear a lot of Americans, and others say how great our health care is. Only partially, you can TRY to get your doctor to run specific tests, but as a patient, we have no control over what the doctor wants to see. If you ask what the test request form says, you get treated like you're a pariah and finding a new doctor isn't an option for most people because most are overloaded with patients and will refuse to see you if you have an existing doctor. So, in most cases, going to the doctor is useless unless you want to follow them blindly and take pharmaceuticals. Now some people are going to say my doctor is not like that and good for you but this is extremely common here.

Yes, I visit doctors rarely and recently went in for a general check up cause I'm nearing 70. A new doctor, because mine has retiried. I felt like he was looking at my age rather than me, suggesting I have pap smears, mammograms, flu shots, etc. I just said, yeah, no. He didn't seem to have read my medical history which was mostly having a few sun spots removed. Maybe my dismissive manner didn't help, but rather than ask why I said no, he told me he was only trying to give me good advice.

What an informative talk. I had my first scan 14 years ago which showed some bone loss so I researched it and decided not take any drugs for it because of the side effects. My doctor was good about that also. He's retired and the doctor I'm seeing now (though I'll probably change) saw my 3rd and most recent scan, which showed continued loss, and recommended drugs saying the bone loss isn't reversible. Even if it continues, I'd rather have quality bones than dense, brittle bones. So glad I'm not on any other medications, preferring to go the natural route.

For those interested in exercise for bones, please refer to Prof Belinda Beck and the Liftmor trial that demonstrated that high intensity, high impact exercise is what is needed to improve bone density. Walking is a good general exercise but numerous studies have shown it has no impact on bone density (same with swimming and cycling). Just "lifting weights" might not necessarily be enough either. It's supposed to be weight that equates to 80% of your best single max rate, so you need progressive loading. Impact exercise and weight exercise can pose risks for osteoporotic people, so supervision, starting slowly and progressive overload is needed.

Wow! This video is LOADED with in-depth information. I will need to watch again and take notes to be able to compare to the bloodwork I've already had and to request what is missing from my Doc, who is most receptive. She started me on additional protein (not so much as stated here), D, K-2, & Omega 3 in my first visit, plus referred me to the most amazing physical therapist. My first and only bone density scan at 65 (now 67) indicated osteoporosis. Bloodwork had markers for AS and malabsorption of nutrients (I'd unintentionally lost a LOT of weight and height, but no doc paid much attention to that previously). Eventually learned that I had four different anti-biotic resistant bacteria living in me that we finally eradicated, but as you've pointed out, the cure can cause other problems. I've adjusted my diet to address inflammation, so have eliminated as much as possible, wheat, most dairy, and, of course, sugar. Working on optimizing my gut health, badly debilitated by frequent antibiotic use over the decades with yummy ferments, homemade yogurt, etc. So, how do you offset the negative impact of SSRIs? I'm currently on a low dose, but I think that once I get might gut in top condition, I'll be able to eliminate them. What about OXALATES in foods like dried beans and spinach? Many other channels/sources go on about how they negate calcium absorption, so they should be avoided, though the preparation method of dried beans can remove a lot of it. My thought is that if you get enough calcium from other food sources, it shouldn't matter. Is my thinking wrong?

Dr is correct, we do not move enough and our bodies are affected by the oncoming harms effect plus the diet consumptions. We need to start eating real foods, move more and be more aware of our health.

I just started to see a functional nutritionist who will be looking at recent bloodwork. I know she requested my primary care doctor include ferritin but thanks to your comprehensive list, I will be checking to see if other tests were ordered. Thank you for providing the most informative video I have ever seen in the years I have been looking on UKposts.

Dr Osborne thank you so much for this information. My endocrinologist (hypothyroid) only does Dexa scan and prescribed Zoledronic Acid injection which I took before I learned or understood how it worked on the bones. Now I will get more tests done and get more exercise, more protein, be more careful with food choices. I was eating organic, no sugar, pasture raised & finished meat, eggs, no dairy and was disappointed when my Dexa scan was worse. After you video I will rethink what I am doing and want to naturally rebuild my bone density without further medication.

VA nurse here. Do you do virtual visits? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! It has been invaluable to me! I love sharing what I learn from you with the nurses and doctors I work with. Also love sharing your information with our patients. I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and was told I have gluten sensitivity. I purchased your book no grain no pain and working on gluten free diet. I consider myself healthy. I have always exercised 5-6 times weekly and eat a healthy diet. The Rheumatologist I saw tried fear mongering to get me to agree to take Bisphosphonates. Im happy I did not and believe God led me to you. If you are taking patients I would love to schedule a virtual appointment. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks for all you do!

Very informative video. Great information here. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in spine but scan was not totally clear. GP talked me into having Prolia, had one injection. Made me as sick as, really aweful. Did my own research re treatment, care. Started on supplements, eat healthy, dont eat junk food, am active, have dog that I work with, walk daily, camping. I eat gluten free; all natural foods, cook my own meals; may have occasional wine (very little) grow my own vegetables/fruit as much as I can. I am amazed at what some people call a healthy diet. :)

Thank you for your lecture which is very helpful for everyone who has bone problem. I was just diagnosed last month with osteoporosis and my primary doctor prescribed fusomax. I have been experiencing varicose pains behind my knees as well as muscle pain on my knees and muscles. I am so thankful today that I found your video and watched it until the end. I will take some of your words. I will stop using fusomax and go on a nutritious diet. Thank you once again. Your lecture is highly appreciated.
