Snapping turtles need fish to eat so I'd suggest moving it to your river. They sit in the muddy riverbottom for hours using their tongue as a lure for fish with their razer sharp beak open. They can break bone and give you severe lacerations. The proper way to hold one is by the very back end of the shell and the tail at the same time. This one even though it's small could easily crush your dogs paw if it got hold of it.

You need to talk with Brandon Eddy, he has had quite a problem with them in his front pond. Snapping napping turtles do grow to be quite large. And they do seem to multiply quickly.

Poor Gunner and pigs having to listen to those VERY NOISY frogs. That's horrible. That's got to be annoying ad heck.

But he’s a young snapper. He will get much bigger so better to contact Game and Fish. They can get him and move him to a place where he can be safer and not harm anyone.

He'll get a lot bigger. The ones around here, are almost 2ft wide across the back.

I call them my pet, dinosaurs. The biggest one I've seen so far, is about 5ft, nose to tail. And it's a handful trying to move them out of the road!!

Yes snapper soup is good. My Mom was an excellent cook & she made a wicked snapper soup. The only thing she would get my Dad to have the turtle ready before he brought it home. We had a trapper in our area & he would call my Dad if he got a snapper. My Dad wouldn’t pay the trapper for the snapper but he always got my Dad to bring him my Moms soup. That was his payment for giving the snapper to my Dad. Those were the days. Restaurants in our area wanted my Moms receipe for her soup but she never gave it up. But depending on the size of the snapper or if it was more than one snapper my Mom made the soup & the restaurants would pay her for that. Everybody knew my Moms snapper soup, trust me. It was good. I remember a lot of people that they didn’t want any snapper soup until they sold my Moms at the restaurants.😂😊😂

Nope. Its just a general snapping turtle. Alligator turtles look just like alligators. This one does not. It doesn't have ridges on its back, just smooth.

I know the girls go in the creek but do they swim in the pond in hot weather? That might not be ideal either. We had a red slider and a painted turtle which grew according to the size of the tank. When they out grew the 6ft tank (after 20+ years) we thought we’d put them in our backyard pond. Not a good idea, the raccoons got a foot and the slider died out of the enclosure under a fence.

She died at 6;30 pm !!!! Even though we were expecting her to pass away !!!! It is a shock anyway we loved her with all our hearts and she always had her Bible close by her! We were so grief stricken that we did not hear my sister ‘s car being stolen downstairs in the carport at 9:20 pm!!! That put extra grief for my sister morning the loss of my mom and not hearing her car being stolen!! Even the two boxers and my daughters Pitt-bulls were so sad at the loss of my mother They did not hear a thing! But my sister’s had given my sister an Apple fob tracker and he had another tracker in the cigarette lighter!! The robbers put the tracker In the ciaggrette lighter on the console !!! They went to Oakland and put a radio in the car!!! Then they drove to Richmond!! David checked app for Apple fob tracker and The car was in Richmond and gave an address!! They called the Richmond police Dept. gave them the address!!! They found the car at the address!!! Window broken, Ignition broken!!! But my sister got her red Porsche back!!! I had double anxiety scared that my sister and her husband might be shot Plus my Mom’s passing!!!! To much!!! Do you Now see how much your videos mean to me!!! Thank you so much!!! The police stayed with my sister and her husband for 3 hours until the tow truck came!! That was a relief when I heard that!! Car was in a very bad neighborhood!!
