@Seth Martin & everyone... So many good Ted Talks... and my friends! Consider taking your time with these Ted Talks. Too many in 1 week, and most of it gets forgotten as there isn't enough time to reflect and consider where to apply any advise to your life. Reflection is as important as the Ted talk hitting your ear drums in the first place. Be well and Happy.

One of the important things he said: By mastering our sense of self we’re able to walk into a room where everything’s descending into chaos and retain our center. When everything’s breaking down around us with the eye of the storm, it’s like “ move, I’ll handle that”. That’s the best way that you’ll be able to handle uncertainty.
@IrisCrain
@IrisCrain Рік тому
This is also one of the most misunderstood. This DOESN'T mean to take the power away from others to solve their own problems. It means to have the ability to stay calm and grounded when others are in chaos. The "move, I'll handle that" could be read as taking control - and while that's certainly necessary sometimes, especially in an emergency - it's most often a bad idea, for both the self-reliant person and for others. Not only does it contribute to burnout, feeling a lack of appreciation and overwhelm on the part of the self-reliant person, it can cause others to feel a lack of self ability and self worth, lack of resilience and co-dependency for those whom the self-reliant person is "saving." So all of the people in the situation come away feeling hurt, misunderstood and unhappy. Helping others build resiliency through your calm example and support on the other hand is a very healthy and good thing for all involved. As a recovering "fix-it" person, this is a very powerful and important distinction. Without it, that calm center is neither genuine nor long-lasting, and can be blown away with a single adverse event. Repeatedly. Sometimes, fatally.

@LarryTartisel
@LarryTartisel 2 роки тому
@@TheCureIsMe Without knowing it, we can have poor opinions of our own worth. We silently (sometimes not silently) question our value to the world and that gets us behaving in ways to try to prove to the world (or mostly ourselves) that we are worthy. Those behaviors of constantly striving for approval and acceptance, prove counter-productive to rising in our lives. If I think poorly of myself, I will frequently self-sabotage my life. When my worth is no longer questioned, I can meet my potential and become a greater version of my self. I've seen this said this way too "We live up to our identity, not our potential."

Stop putting/viewing the wrong things into our minds/body meaning program ourselves to listen better , by not being a passive listener 2. Peer group.... Change it. Love your family, but don't allow them to control you and with that cultivate good friends that understand you .(not manipulate you) 3. Re-magnatize your compass (your inner-knower) 4. Be encouraged. Without knowing you or your situation, I can still assure you, with confidence, that there is a new life awaiting you. You posted a day ago, from somewhere in the world...and I found you this morning from where I am. We didn't meet by accident. Life is like that, my friend. Many people have traveled this similar road before you...and there will be many that will find it long after you've healed from your challenges. Learn as much as you can from these experiences. We are all students and teachers...simultaneously....and you will have great stories and lessons to share with those who follow behind you. If you've ever been in a dark room, then you know from experience that it takes time for your eyes to adjust to that darkness. But once your vision adapts to that environment, you begin developing the ability to see the room again. Yes, it's still dark, but your senses will work together and you'll find that you're able to move freely in a place that once confined you. Give yourself plenty of time to "adjust" to your current dark place, pal. You'll start to see again soon, I promise. I wish you every great blessing for you and your future. Be well.

My dinner mate is frequently talking about all the awful events she watches on the news, and discusses it with others at our table.l pretend to listen, but am enjoying listening to happy music on my earbuds, trying to tune out the negative things that she's reporting from the traffic news she's heard and watched on T.V. l often eat out instead to avoid this negative conversation, to help keep my mind in a more positive frame of thought. Trouble is, l really like this person, but what she often talks about disturbs me so l often try to avoid the situation. Any thoughts, advice from anyone reading my report, please ?

@@suziquestionable2845 Seems like it's an incessant need of your friend to grab attention and full-fill their own needs of awareness, so that's why she already has this habit and need to constantly talk about the negative stuff happening around just to have a topic and something to discuss on. I would nicely ask her to not pour / share unnecessary negative news with you since it brings you down and it's something you didn't ask for it, it's just dumping negative energy on you, if she's really your friend, she should be more aware of your needs. Also, people say you have to watch all the news to know what's going on in the world bla bla, yes for sure, but one thing is to know generally what's going on and another is being glued all day reading all the catastrophic details, wasting time and putting in bad mindset, especially if you can't do anything about it, personally. If there's a specific topic that is truly close to your heart (any activist issue), then by all means go for it. But just blabbing about issues and wasting time in negative things without any real solution, is just none sense.

This was incredibly insightful to listen to. Thank you for sharing these wise words and great quotes! I think most people live a life of mediocrity because they don't know how to rise above the opinion of themselves and feel trapped by their negative thoughts/feelings. They operate as if they were sitting in the passenger seat of their own life instead of the driver seat because they don't learn how to control their emotions so their emotions eventually begin to control them. Mastering your emotions is extremely difficult. It's a journey and it is something that takes a lot of work.

I'm so sorry you have terrible experience with life coaches! I believe in energy exchange for the transformation that you want to see!. When I coach it's never about me it's always about the other person. I'm not in it for the money I'm in it for the transformation and raising the Vibes of the entire planet! Depending on what problem is you want to solve and how much money might be wasted on this problem it could be a good time to think about investing in solving the problem. This is energy Exchange. It's not for everybody. But on the other hand everybody has a coach! Whether we're paying for it or not somebody is guiding us in our life. We are learning. We are earning. I think it's about the energy we put on money. And of course the come from. Where is the intention coming from? Living 40 years with the conditions.... I have invested in myself to unlock higher purpose. And it is an energy Exchange. School children have coaches. The elite have coaches. I believe life coaching is just now becoming available. Hopefully on a sliding scale as I believe everything should be. Depending on what the needs of the community are. As I coach earn money to help transform the lives of others.... to better myself. To better my community. The shift and raise the consciousness especially for people who've never experienced the elitist life. I work through subconscious to that place of worthiness . Investing in ourselves could be the smartest investment we make. People will spend over $20,000 on a car and think $1,500 to improve themselves for 3 months it's too much money! I'm sure if you add it up how much your problem is costing you it's more than $1,500 for 3 months. Have you ever read books about the energy of money? Sending much love and just sharing my opinion. Hopefully my work will never make anyone feel yucky or like I am taking from them. It s about the come from. And the problem u want to solve

I have a friend who's the smartest person I've ever known. He graduated at the top of his engineering class and became VP of a large company by the age of 28. However, he came from a family devoid of emotion and seemed to seek some kind of emotional support and care. In university he fell in love with the love of his life and married her at 25. He absolutely worshipped her and worked hard to giver her everything she wanted. Five years later she left him after having an affair with her co-worker. He was crushed and never recovered. It's been a few years, but last I heard, he was on welfare living on and off the streets. Seems to me he was limited by his opinion of himself.

While many of the tools shared were in accordance with teachings my mother tried to pass down to me it took someone else reiterating the same message for things to sync. Being older and wiser I can see the great impact having a positive mindset can have on every area of your life. The explanation of the human brain was kind of triggering as I sit here reflecting I am now charged with the assignment of holding myself accountable when interacting and speaking to my children ages 4 & 6. I only want to speak words that bring forth life and not curses of death and have to be mindful that even during times of frustration or complete chaos I am setting the tone for the way in which my children will view themselves later on. My favorite quote you said was "PEOPLE WILL NEVER RISE ABOVE THE OPINIONS OF THEMSELVES" like wow!!!! Thank you for making this available unto us all.

I think the answer is simpler: we don't have a good "connection" with ourselves and our goals let alone people in our lives. We just do many things without REALLY thinking about them. WHAT WE NEED is to spend some time with ourselves everyday planning the next day. That's the first step. We don't need a notebook, mobile, nothing.. just a broad visualisation of who you are and what you'll do tomorrow. Make that connection. Countless of my students have found this working better than different MODELS and STEPS and other complicated ways.. JUST have a walk and visualise. You'll also move a bit that will release the right hormones for you to have a positive connection with the next day's purpose!! Best of luck guys!!

One of the best TED Talks I have heard. Very clear message that gets right to the point and gives you a place to start on the road to self mastery. This one is going in my library.
