In this video I show you guys step by step how to build your own curved paver patio. I go into detail how to prep your ground, how deep to dig, how much gravel and importantly how to lay pavers to make your patio look fantastic with curves. The entire process of building a paver patio is here for your reference.
If you guys have any questions regarding this paver patio process, please let me know by putting your questions in the comments section. I try to answer each question as best as I can and as soon as possible.

Deuteronomy, 18:11 10. Let there be no one in the midst of you to cause your son or daughter to pass through the fire; Let no one practice enchantments or consult the stars; That there be no sorcerers or sorcerers; 11. that no one is found who engages in superstitions or consult the spirits; That no fortune-teller or anyone who asks the dead is found. 12. For Yahweh hates those who do all this, and drives them out before you because of these abominations. Jesus loves you, God loves you John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds ukposts.infoUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . Don’t forget that with the polymeric sand you want the paver surface to be dry before applying and then before wetting down the pavers, use a leaf blower to clean off any remaining sand on the surface. The point is to prevent any of it from activating on the paver tops and leaving a haze behind!

I too take importance on the things that brings you together. Seeing your wife helping you it’s great but seeing that you also involved your kid it’s the best part. What she will learn from those chores she will have all her life and will help her down the road. So kudos to you. I plan on doing the same thing. My worry is the ground. Last time I did some digging to plant some trees I couldn’t go too far I hit a bedrock. One of my neighbors canceled their in ground pool for the same reason. They couldn’t dig deep enough it was just rock! So thank you for your effort on the video.

Oh man, we love doing circular patio cutting by laying your pattern larger than your circle diameter, then scribe your circle with a paver marker or masonry pencil and cut the pavers on the ground with a continuous circular cut with the grinder. Then drop your soldier course around that perfect circle and lock in with the snap edge. thanks for the video!

If you're making a circle patio, you don't need to trace an inch at a time. 1.Find the exact center point 2. Trace 1 piece of the boarder 3. Take a string, nail, and pencil 4. The one end of the string to the pencil and the other to the nail 5. Now have someone hold the nail on the exact middle point 6. Extend the pencil to the spot you previously traced 7. From that spot, start tracing the circle, by walking in a circle while keeping tension on the string

1 thing I will add for those using the polymeric sand- Be careful that there's no moisture on the blocks when putting the sand out. Also, it's very important to only lightly mist the patio to activate the polymeric. Any excess water on the surface will leave polymeric residue that is a nightmare to clean off.

I'm icpi certified and this is actually pretty accurate though I would use containment fabric (geotextile) so the fines don't wash out of your base over the years, a machine tamper because your not going to get it compacted enough with just a hand tamp, and then overlay your pavers draw a circle and cut them all at once with a cut off saw. Also the washed concrete sand should be applied with screed poles just like he did to get a consistent depth, it's not just for leveling you're meant to tamp the pavers into it pushing the sand up between the cracks and then the poly sand is swept in the top of the cracks making the pavers interlocking. If you rent a plate tamper you can get a pad for the bottom when you tamp pavers down or just use a piece of plywood as not to scuff the surface. You're also going to want to build a wood fire pizza oven next to that nice patio 👌.

Very good video! Thank you! I'm guessing that the total materials cost is much more than poured, colored concrete. BTW, "Tampering" is interfering with (something) in order to cause damage or make unauthorized alterations, which you didn't. "Tamping" is ramming or packing (a substance) down or into something firmly, which is what you did.

Fuzzy-smumbally kitten and I did the same project a while back but instead of "tampering" we just did regular "tamping"... still turned out great!

Great video! Love the step-by-step instructions. I’m about to start a multi-level paver patio project as well about 4x bigger than your beautiful round patio. Unfortunately, my back yard isn’t level so I get to level the damn thing with small retaining walls. Good times!

If you’ve never done this type of work before and think this guy is great: 1) There’s no scenario where you don’t rent a compactor here. The patio is way too big to be properly compacted with a hand tamper. 2) Don’t go side to side while screeding as it unnecessarily digs into your base (you see it happening in the video). 3) I have no idea why you wouldn’t rent a concrete saw instead. There’s literally zero reason to flip your cuts over to finish them. 4) You want a dry patio while using polymeric sand. It says this on every bag of sand. Again, no idea why. 5) Generic other things: edging goes in after the patio is laid, click the brick in before laying it, dig to depth rather than double digging etc etc etc. Summary: this guy seems cool and nice. This seems like a great family project. If you’re going to spend this amount of time and money doing your own patio, do things properly because you’ll kick yourself in the ass as time goes on.

Do you have a video example of installing a patio using the items you suggested above?
@shamonissac5364
@shamonissac5364 3 роки тому
summary: hands down this guy has done a great job and your tips don't mean he didn't do it properly. when you wanna call it a home project or a DIY project, you won't pack your yard with rented machinery which is a contractor thing who want to finish the job in the shortest possible time not a homeowner who tryna save some money.

It’s almost like you didn’t read my comment. 1) the equipment I said to rent (compactor, saw) take up about the size of a lawnmower. Pretty sure you’ll squeeze it in. 2) they’d cost, at most, $100 to rent for a few days which is literally nothing compared to the money you’d spend on brick and materials. 3) They’d make the job way easier, and save a ton of time 4) most importantly, using them would make your patio last WAY longer without shifting and splitting. If you’re going to spend money, make it last. No I don’t make UKposts videos. Sorry I’m trying to save people from doing a terrible job so they don’t waste their money.

Much easier if you build the patio without the border first, put the black border on top and trace it, then cut the circle out with a rented stone saw, then apply the border. Cutting each stone individually is the hard way.

That patio wasn't wet when you put on the polysand?!
@brianmogle1121
@brianmogle1121 3 роки тому
You forgot to run a plate compactor over the pavers before you put down the polymeric sand. This causes the base sand bed material to lock in the pavers before the poly sand is applied. Also the poly sand should not be applied unless it's 100% dry.

should of blew off the excess polymeric sand on top of the pavers with a leaf blower, then watered. if not it makes the pavers look more hazy after it drys.

instead of cutting them individually mark your outside line and lay pavers just past the line. mark your line again onto the pavers and make one continuous cut along the outside

6” is the minimum base you want. 1” of bedding material at max. 2% slope aka 1/4 per foot. If you are doing the compacting by hand, needs to be done in 1” lifts. If you rent a 3,300lb centrifugal force plate compactor you can do it in 2-3” lifts. Obviously homeowners won’t go rent a big boy plate compactor but a 12k centrifugal force plate compactor (weighs around 900-1,100lbs) can do a 10” lift properly.
