The granite on your counter is constructed not as thick as you think, unless you have ordered it custom. The top is likely no more than 3/4” but the bulldozing on the edge gives the appearance that it is thicker. The tops is reinforced with usually 3/4” plywood to protect the granite from cracking.

Great video I have Apple iPhone 7, will this work on the product you mentioned? I have a concrete home in Mexico, always having water leaks in the concrete walls. I want to identify all the water pipes within the walls, and create a drawing of it and as well of the electrical wiring. Pleasecadise

That was very informative and interesting. At first I thought your app was using thermography as when you demonstrated seeing the pipe but not your arm. I was wondering. When you did switch to another function it seemed like then you were picking up a faint heat signature as indicated by the color red. If it is in fact using thermography then that opens up many more applications by detecting heat lost in your home, water leaks, loose electrical connections etc. I used thermography occasionally in a nuclear station with a $60,000 camera but there are some that cost more. The reason I mention this is because IF thermography is included then the cost justification for the app is a great bargain and can be fun.

I keep forgetting that in the US you have thin walls... old houses in EU have far thicker ones. For example, in my house there are some that are 60 cm thick (that's approx. 24 in.). This technology would still be useful to find pipes, but you wouldn't catch movement in the other room. Personally, I'd go for a vibrometer.

@@soumiksaha8484 Really. The older part is dating back to the first half of 14th century (up to the 1st floor). 2nd and 3rd floor are more recent, from 17th century on, with the latest parts added at the beginning of the 19th. About your house's walls, you're lucky it pre-dates globalization, which brought cheaper, less sturdy ways to build houses, with the side effect of having no thermal displacement and buildings that don't last as long.
