Bill Maher and Howie Mandel (new show "Bullsh*t the Game Show" on Netflix) randomly riff on how close Howie is to becoming Howard Hughes, the childhood trauma that gave him OCD, why Bill jumps on a trampoline every day, the impact of luck on a show business career, cancel culture and the war on comics, Howie’s first time on stage and the birth of his famous rubber glove bit, and saying goodbye to Gilbert Gottfried. Stay to the end and see Bill extend a very special invite to Howie.

I think this podcast was a very smart move. It's clearly not a way for him to get out of his HBO contract even if for the sake of argument it blows up and becomes on the biggest podcasts. You can tell Bill wants to do Real time for however long HBO allows him to and he's physically able to. He just now happens to have a level of security if the day comes like it did with Larry King leaving CNN. He can then do this and then do some additional content. If the itch of still talking about news in a weekly or Bi weekly basis is still there when the moment comes. It's a win win for both parties really.

I appreciate Howie being open about irrational fear. Because even if it did stem from an event anyone would be afraid of, it comes to a point of knowing you are fuct - and realizing, now what do I do? I had OCD that plagued me from my teenage years. I scored extremely high on the Yale Brown test. I had bad compulsions that crippled me too but the obsessions were the most awful thing ever. I woke up with them and went to bed with them. It had me completely shut down and unable to work or function for over 20 years. I couldn't be around people, I couldn't read books or watch tv or listen to the radio. It all triggered the most awful obsessions. I was shut down and daily tortured. Finally my physical symptoms got so bad I got to an immunologist. I had figured out that wheat made me feel physically sick and I was telling him that and he told me that OCD can be caused by wheat. I stopped using wheat and my OCD is gone. Not reduced but completely gone. If I get wheat in me then it rages back and I'm in it for 3 to 5 days depending on the severity of the exposure. Unfortunately I don't have celiacs. Mine is more like a peanut contact allergen so if I touch it or smell it or eat wheat I get sick. It's not just wheat. Anything with gluten and gliaden like barley. There are a number of things. Here's a link to the first medical case study of a child getting near perfect relief from OCD with allergen exposure cessation. I hope it helps somebody. This disease is torture and nobody should have to live like that. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4756770/

Back in the 80s, his comedy was universally funny to everyone. He was a standout comic, definitely a bonafide member of the top echelon of comics. His name was up there with all the top comics of the day. Just knowing his back-story is a gift. The same way we all can relate to Robin Williams’ human background, his addiction, his personal pain, it’s the same with Howie. It makes them both extra special & beloved.

In the first three minutes, Bill was able to get Howie to be quiet more than I have seen any other interviewer ever. lol The Godfather impression had me impressed, too.

Two treasures in Howie and Bill. I didn't want it to end. Bill got Howie high with secondhand smoke.

So far, in a series of great interviews, this one connected. You go, Bill! I love this format because so do you. And that conveys to us. Howie has to be the guest from god (or whomever). Brilliant. And thank you.

That's why you need to learn about people's experiences before judging them. Imagine people being prejudiced on Howie without knowing the reason why he has OCD.

We still shouldn't validate a bad experience to warble perspective and reality...its harder to get over, but we still need to get over it tho...a lot of kids had cancer as a child for example, people have horrible experiences you can't let it define the rest of your life or overwrite actual reality...

Real Time is an average of maybe 50% boring, whereas this show is zero % boring. Such pure, clever, spontaeity with all guests thus far. Howey is by far the most entertaining of your guests thus far. He made a witty comedy bit out of the entire interaction. And you went with it marvelously as the sort of the straight man. Great show!

This is only the second video I've seen of Club Random with Bill Maher. I thought the first one I watched that was with Fran Lebowitz was good, but the chemistry between Bill Maher and Howie Mandel, was excellent. I'm a big fan of Howie's. How refreshing to see him speaking openly about his mental health at more length than usual. Bill gave Howie lots of space to talk which was smart of him. Anyone that watches Bill on his tv show will know that he has a tendency of interrupting his guests. Here he simply made the effort to listen and let Howie talk. Great video.

How great to watch Howie jump on our website and to hear that Bill bounces every day for his health! You should try it, too! A bellicon mini-trampoline provides a fun cardio workout that is amazing for lymphatic circulation, which boosts your immune system. I've been using a mini tramp for at least 12 yrs., Howie, Bill is spot on. The lymph system relies on gravity unlike the circulatory system which benefits from resistance training. Get yourself a rebounder & spend 20' a day on it.

For Howie....He needs to look into psilocybin with a guided therapist. They are making huge strides with OCD, depression, addiction, fear, PTS and all kinds of disorders where people are stuck. You only have to do it once. He's a perfect candidate for it. Have him research it. They are in Phase 3 trials at major research hospitals. It's revolutionary.
