Don't you just love it when a song could just as easily be about summoning a demon as it could be about starting a new relationship?

isn't that like summoning a demon anyway - i.e. the true soul of the other person?

I love the fact that he tries to distance himself from these "feelings" by saying "it will come back", but it slowly becomes "I will come back", as if he couldn't help it. Anyway the bluesy feel is amazing and I can't get tired of that song!

I like to think it’s because of the line “I know who I am when I’m alone But I’m something else when I see you” As if he’s so full of emotion he no longer recognizes himself and he says something instead of someone else and in the end he says he’s howling his emotions are so primal he’s no longer himself

@natashabenitez76505 років тому
Mae Mae Morris it's not the same as the Album version as well his brother is the sound guy. If you listen to the interviews the mother's attic burned down. Looks like they are playing in The New Attic that the Mother lost year's over 30 year's of her Art work due to the fire in the families home. The father as we'll play's music well did before having children. The Mother has painted the Album Covers . The Parents are Both very creative . if you look at the walls that is fresh drywall and the windows are new look outside the windows you see the views. Hozier said he will stay in the Attic of his family home and write music. Looks like the Attic he did describe the family attic as being rather large in scale. and just because it said 2013 on U -Tube doesn't mean anything of the year that's for U-Tube... not always. The sounds are different in Live or Album or different styles of stuido versions depending on whatever instruments are used to create. look how his guitar is at the top striged off with small rope look at his hands what he is useing to play look at the Mic how its wraped up ..Enjoy The Music

Don't let it in with with no intention to keep it Jesus Christ, don't be kind to it. Honey don't feed it, it will come back. You know better babe, you know better babe, Than to smile at me, smile at me like that You know better babe, you know better babe, Than to hold me just, hold me just like that. Honey don't feed me I will come back. Can't be unlearned I've known the warmth of your doorways Through the cold, I'll find my way back to you Oh please, give me mercy no more. That's a kindness you can't afford! I want you baby tonight, as sure as you're born You'll hear me howling outside your door. Don't you hear me howling babe? Don't you hear me howling babe? California is a great place to live, but sometimes you just miss those southern blues! Funny since he is Irish. Maybe, all my roots calling out to me when I hear him! Love his outlook on social issues, too. His parents must be proud! Sorry this is so long, first time making a comment. Wish my favorites, "Somewhere in the Woods" and "Arsonist's Lullaby were included in attic sessions.
