I absolutely love this lay out especially the smaller but fully functioning kitchen with more living space for seating and entertaining. I personally don't care for conversions with huge kitchens but sacrificed tiny uncomfortable looking living spaces. This is ideal for one person. As a female who would be solo, I'd only change one thing and that's, less windows for me for privacy. Great build. Thank you for sharing.

Really turned out great. Love hearing about all the reclaimed stuff. Few things I would change but that’s personal preference. You could build these for people when things are slow for your building company! It certainly would be easy enough and there are plenty of people who like using reclaimed items! Hope your son enjoys his new digs! Vaya con Dios!!
@BradtheBuilderРік тому
Thanks for watching! It’s fun using the reclaim wood for some reason it looks so much nicer than the new wood materials… 😎👍

Damn this is a good looking bus conversion. If I had this same setup, I'd turn the toilet area into a wet bath with composting toilet

@chrismartin8832Рік тому
Very nice Brad. Your sons lucky to have a pops like you. Also you might consider some curtains in there even with the windows being tinted.
@mamawnamidreviews9978Рік тому
I think a collage of different colours would look cool. It depends on what your son is into. Like for me it would be covered in Deadpool and books. So something like that with his interests would be cool. Some type of curtains or blinders to keep the sun out in the mornings. I'm really impressed that you could fit a bathroom in there! I love to see how much you recycle old materials that you have. I also love the idea of converting the bus. I'd need to know more about your son to come up with a name.
@TangosUSMCРік тому
Brad. If he's able to block the emergency backdoor and window, maybe build a foldable deck that connects to the trailer hitch. The deck could be folded up for storage/ driving. He'll just need to fold it down, open the backdoor and have a huge area to hangout. If you design the deck to follow the contour of the bus, he won't have to worry about creating additional drag while driving.
@BradtheBuilderРік тому
That’s a great idea… I was considering building a permanent deck off the back but I like your idea better! 👍🎺

@heatherd.9390Рік тому
HAHA, that was hilarious about the horn at the end. I WAS waiting for it, but was confident it'd sneak in there somehow 😉 Looking at the outside of that bus makes me want to do a mural in the strongest way! I would find a local artist and have him sit down with your son to find his interests and what he wants to see. Maybe a lake scene that goes to mountains that turns to fields, to desert to the ocean. Like he's travelling cross country in the mural too if that makes sense. As for a name... that's harder. I caught his name is Nate and was in the Navy (thank you for your service, Nate. Also thank you to his family. I know it is hard on you too!). How about "Anchors Aweigh" since it represents the ship being under way and he's off on an travelling adventure? The inside and outside of the bus is beautiful! Seems to me you thought of just about everything. Certainly all I'd need or want. Where does he plan to travel to? YES TO A FATHER\SON (and mom if interested!) CAMPING TRIP!!! In fact, I'd go so far as to have you encourage him to vlog his travels. Lots of people watch travel videos. I'd subscribe for sure, but without a doubt it's a HUGE *YES* from me for a family camping trip as a trial run. Heather🇨🇦

man that's awesome never thought there would be that much space on a smaller bus. My retirement dream is to build a van or bus and travel the country hunting and fishing something like this would be way more affordable than a RV or camper.
@ryansmith2997Рік тому
Feel like a light not too crazy color would look good on the outside. A black trim or secondary color would be good contrast too.
@kimberelywilcox8616Рік тому
To save space instead of a swing door you could make it a sliding barn door style. It could be slide open and latched over pantry on travel days.

Thank You for sharing this bus turned home on wheels. The seating arrangement is outrageous .Perfect for inviting friends inside to visit. Sleeping areas easily converts into beds. I think maybe a curtain for the larger sleeping area in case someone wants to sleep in or a visitor wakes up early. Beautiful bathrm door adds character to the vibe of the bus. I like the color white for the outside. The name hmm.. Would need to think about that one . I would love to add a woman's touch. Plants , wicker baskets and black wrought iron storage baskets. Wrought iron light fixtures Things or items to add warmth to the inside. Maybe more of the bathrm colored wood door, like a shelf.

Great workmanship. Take it from an OCD Nomad, There's a lot of wasted space. Just saying. Love the bathroom door. There is a shower you could've installed and with a portable composting toilet that stores in shower when not in use. A lot of RV'ers are converting their flushing toilets to compost. Easier using 'no smell' pine pellets and no cost to dump.

Good bus for a guy. Us women need a shower, but I suppose that could come later. I hope you installed some kind of safety bar underneath that huge propane tank. Don't forget the carbon monoxide sensors /alarms. I think framing the outside windows with black paint. Quick note: a heater *below* the fridge? And some of that open storage is going to be an issue. And original roof/exposed windows I see a lot of cold/heat leaks; esp w/little insulation. Other then that, its a pretty build.

Are you concerned with the open storage falling out? We’re coming up with net system to hold it in place. 🎺👍

I really like the overhead rack, very useful thing to have. One thing I would change is the bathroom door. I would put in a sliding door instead. 🙂

Because the wall next to the door was at an angle, I could not put a sliding door on 🤠🎺

@@BradtheBuilder Oh, I didn't know that. Maybe for the next build. ☺️

I converted an ambulance a few years ago. It worked pretty good but to short for me so I sold it. You could always wrap it with your UKposts channel and business contacts. Free billboard advertisements. 😂

That’s a good idea, I’m not sure if my son would go for it🤔
