I said before the fight the way AJ wins is by landing a big shot to show Usyk his power, 12 rounds later I was still waiting. Usyk got off a couple of shots early on to show he has power, after that AJ was too scared to throw any real power shots, for fear of being countered and KO'd, the couple of hlaf power shots he landed to Usyk's body really got his attention and briefly stopped him in his tracks. When you have someone with Usyk's head movement surely the body should be the #1 target, but AJ couldn't follow up beacuse he knew he would be KO'd.

Froch is spot on with his assessment IMO, he said exactly what I thought while watching the fight. AJ didn't use his advantages and tried boxing a better boxer. Absolutely a masterpiece of boxing artistry by Usyk an amazing performance and deserved the win. Glad we didn’t get a robbery following some of the earlier bouts I wasn’t sure what the judges would do but Usyk class was clear for everyone to see, even if your just an AJ fan and know nothing about boxing Usyk skill set is phenomenal and he is one of the best pound for pound fighters of all time. Some of the predictions this week by pure AJ, non boxing fans has been laughable I’ve heard AJ will KO him in the first round, to Usyk is not even in AJ league lol. Both fighters are great but unfortunately Some AJ fans, Wilder, Fury fans know nothing about boxing so disrespect the opponent through their own biases and ignorance. Great fight and the right decision.

He needs to have a brawler arsenal and a boxer arsenal. For a heavyweight AJ is much of a boxer and it’s kind of complicated for him to turn into a brawler when he has to. For that reason Wilder can destroy him because he’s a better brawler, and Fury would kill him as well because he’s an even better boxer. AJ is like at the middle of the road; he needs a new strategy to find a second air in his career. He has developed apparently the most he can as a boxer, and now he needs to sharpen his skills as a brawler to improve. Hope the best for him

@@andylucas6962 Let me explain in other words. Lets say he has 6 months before the rematch, in that : Situation 1 - AJ bulks up, improves his power, goes hard early in the match and tries to knock out Usyk asap. Situation 2 - He reduces his weight, increases his stamina, learns boxing again, becomes better than Usyk at boxing and then defeats him by points. I like his chances of doing the first scenerio much more, if he wants a shot at winning. If the target is to lose respectably after 12 rounds, then why even take the rematch?

Ultimately my disappointment with Joshua's loss was that I just didn't feel he gave 100% to try and win. He seemed too scared of Usyk hitting him to let his hands go. When he did land a couple of body shots, you could see Usyk felt those and it knocked him out of his stride for a second, but ultimately Joshua just didn't hit him with meaningful punches for most of the fight.
@matjust5970
@matjust5970 2 роки тому
I don't think AJ was scared of Usyk hitting him. It was a tactical mistake. AJ thought he could win based on points. Big mistake. He didn't analyze Usyk well. Usyk is seriously fast for a heavyweight. The game plan would have been to go for the kill. But that too is not easy against someone who moves that fast. Not to mention the guy is 220 ponds, no light weight by any stretch of imagination, that means a punch from him does matter. For AJ, it is a matter of adjusting to a faster pace opponent who has some punching power, which he failed to do. He might come back with better game plan.
@nielvolschenk4612

I think AJ's still haunted by Ruiz's hook. Looked timid in Ruiz 2, Pulev and now again. Mans got some demons in his head, if he can get them out, regain his killer instinct and go into a brawl without hesitance, he might have a chance.
@matjust5970

@@nielvolschenk4612 : It is very much part of heavyweight boxing. A punch from a muscular human being weighing over 200 pounds to the head is no joke, even if you are a super heavyweight.
