I have the first version and regarding price and sound quality I am super happy with it. It also comes with an audio cable and a mic on it for cases that you are out of battery or don't want to use Bluetooth HFP for a meeting call.

What would really be sweet for the price is multiple device support up to 3 so you can get home security warnings when needed for example.

the best thing about the surface headphones is really the multiple device connectivity and quick switching. In these days of the zoom conferencing, the hardware mute button has also been a godsend so I don’t have to be tethered to my desk to mute/unmute during meetings.

that dedicated mute switch + noise cancelling is a game changer for professional/work purposes. As someone who goes on conference calls regularly for work, having a dedicated hardware switch to mute my headset/mic is an awesome feature.

I have the M3s, one of the best headphones I’ve heard in my life and that comes from a sound engineering family.

Nice review. I bought these and they are great like you said. Yes you (need) to adjust the eq first thing but I have to do that on every listening device I have that are able to do It. These sound much better than my Bose QC35ii's they are replacing maybe due to the fact bose doesn't offer and eq and that was inexcusable in my opinion. The wheel adjustments to me are just awesome, it is so easy to just spin the wheels, they spin with just the right amount of resistance. Nice honest review best I have seen, these other guys don't even bother to adjust the EQ settings and then proceed to bash the sound.

I think you find the Sony more comfortable is because you wear them regularly so your used to them , and they get less light over the time and the padding becomes a little softer etc, I know this bc when I upgraded my headphones, the new ones were less comfortable at first, but then after wearing them for 2 days, they overtook the old ones.

The difference in comfort between a brand new versus well used pair of Sony's may be due to the sponges in the earpieces and headband having softened.

One thing I would like to see that a lot of reviewers gloss over is PC functionality with these headphones. I have had all sorts of problems with both Bose and Sony headphone PC Bluetooth because they seem to be built around an app ecosystem.

The external mute is great for Teams meetings. Lets ou have a little mobility during meetings and still answer when needed :).

Volume wheel is amazing once you experience it. I own a pair of LucidSound gaming headphones and both cups have volume wheels. One side is volume the other is chat volume. Every time I switch to another headset, I immediately miss the volume controls.

I have Audiotechnica M50xbt they’re amazing. I love that they fold in so I can fit them in my backpack pretty easily. Bluetooth but also wire option so if I’m out and I run out of charge I can just plug the wire in. Very comfy. Great sound. No ambient noise, but don’t care about that.

BlueParrott S450-XT with Refresher Cushion I’ve tried all these you’ve posted , but these blue parrots are crazy , noise canceling not only in the headset , but when speaking into the mic , whoever your talking to can’t hear the back ground noise , plus you could easily walk 30ft away from your phone and they still deliver superb quality sound for you and the person your talking to , great sound for music and water , dust resistant, you need to try these with a battery life well over 25 hrs

I love how he went straight to gaming for the mute button lol. It's Microsoft though, that's 💯 percent a Skype/ Teams feature. I'm curious about the mic. I stick with seinheiser mostly because their sound is the best but also their mic/call quality sounds the best too. Also I'm interested to hear what he thought about dictation in office apps, which I heard these auto integrate with. That could be a game changer to dictate documents and the go back and edit with a keyboard. Also, one big thing that this has over most other premium headphones is that it can connect and auto switch between two devices at once. That's pretty big time/convenient IMO.
