My grandpa has always been obsessed with PVZ1. He plays it everyday and has been playing it for a decade or more. He’s beaten and 100 percented it wayyy too many times to count. I remember playing his minigames on there as a toddler, and he still plays this game daily.

I like how he explains the game as if we’ve never played it before

Doom shroom doesn't technically hit every lane, it just has a radius of the entire field, which sounds the same, but if you plant it somewhere that isnt the center it moves the hit box accordingly

I always preferred melonpults/wintermelons even on lawn/pool levels. Splash damage and slow down effect seems more effective than those peashooters. And cattails, even one of them can help out at the start of pool levels - also can deal with the occasional 'smart ones' at the back.

This game's speedrun is way more interesting than I thought it would be.

Each level is so RNG dependent when it comes to speedrunning this game but all in all, you handled it very well man, props!

I thought 100% would also mean doing the endless challenge achievements. Those are some of the only things I STILL haven't managed to do. Congrats on the 100%.

My dad has started playing PVZ on his phone and I'm really happy. I used to play when I was younger but dropped it because I got frustrated - I absolutely love watching him play it now. He'll let me try the mini games and I got one he thought was impossible so that was a nice bonding moment.

I remember playing this game on a whim when I was about 12 on the "free" wild tangent games thing that used to just always be on your PC or laptop. Man was I hooked on the game. I should go back and play through both the original and its sequel.

Something you forgot to mention when introducing the Doom Shroom is that it actually has a range on it. If you plant it too close to the back or the front then the columns on the other side of the lawn don't get hit or take very little damage from the explosion in general. In my mind it's often best to either place it at the start of a large wave to get rid of a huge number towards the right of the screen or more towards the middle if they've already advanced too far. I used a Doom Shroom once after a Football Zombie broke through my defenses before I could hypnotize him once when I was first starting the game way back when it first came out and I tried to Doom Shroom him from the far right side but since he was already close to my mowers all it did was knock his helmet off and he proceeded to use my mower anyways because the explosion didn't kill him. It also doesn't one shot things like the Gargantuar because they have enough health to survive at one explosions and then die on the second.

This game is probably the bane of speezys existence, and I think he knows it.

This was fun to watch and well done for getting 15th place. This inspires me to attempt a speedrun some day for pvz. Gloomshrooms make me so anxious though since they are expensive and it is so easy to lose them, I have been watching another UKpostsr speedrun the survival levels and the amount of times I have seen him lose Gloomshrooms stresses me out. Too bad about the Column Like You See 'Em minigame though, the RNG breaks that minigame so often, if it doesn't give you enough squash or jalapeno the zombies just annihilate your defenses. I wonder how many people that watched this video have not played the game? I'm curious.

before i watch i gotta say this is insane, this game is massive on rng, an example is the zombie endless puzzle, i've gotten a row with only sunflowers in the very first wave and i still failed but that's because i was zoning out and just clicking retry over and over again to get a good start.

Hey Eazy, I got an old flash game to try speed running. Mutate the Labrat (2), beat the coliseum contenders. (Honestly the game title is mutate the labrat, but from its original flash pages it was always the ‘2nd’ one)

Oh my nostalgia! One of my favorite things about PvZ was that there were different minigames for different versions. While I do like the PC minigames, I do prefer the DS ones due to the creativity of some of them. Bomb All Together, Air Raid, Heat Wave, all so creative. Those of you who have played the DS version might notice Homerun Derby is not on that list. That is because it was the bane of my existence and the only DS exclusive that I didn't like.

Ive been going back to PvZ every so often since I was around 6 (I couldn’t even read back then). So I decided recently to do a deathless run. I’ve been thinking of speed running it just for fun, and of course you did it recently! Weird timing

I would say this reminds me of my 360 days, but considering I was playing again last year on my Series, I'm just enjoying this speed run through a childhood classic!

This took me back... PvZ was such a big part of my childhood. Too bad Spy Mouse can't be played anymore supposedly, that would make a really interesting run lol

So... interesting thing with Dr Zomboss... you can actually make it super easy by removing all plants/pots from the map with the exception of one lane. The zombies will trigger the mowers for each lane, but once the mowers are gone, Dr Zomboss will only target the remaining lane effectively turning it into a 1 lane game.

You should absolutely "speedrun" a game that's entire idea is speed running efficiently: Risk of Rain 2. You won't regret it.
