Hislop is a member of the media but I don't think you can say he represents it. Private Eye has a tiny circulation. Large sections of it are dedicated to disagreeing with and pointing out the hypocrisy of the big papers. More worrying is the increasing number of people who get their "news" exclusively from social media. Ian certainly doesn't represent that.

Yes, and the international distribution is dire. I've taken a subscription three times over the years and had to cancel each time because issues went missing or they couldn't keep up with my changes of address. Worse, when they catch up with you, instead of extending your subscription with the number of issues you missed, they just send you the old magazines again (for your "collection").
