Love this girl. She is terrific. Poetry is no longer a dying art. After that beautiful inaugural performance, I bet she has already ignited the interest and imagination of many to read and write poetry.

If she is joining the orchestra at the July 4th celebration in D.C. then this will be the highlight of the celebration. This poem should speak to the hearts of ALL AMERICANS.

Amanda was chosen long time before all, to speak truth, to speak wisdom and love for all, to unite now with all might in the one spirit ,again, as the Fathers thought right. A black skinny girl born of slavery to bring all a new freedom of spirit, a lifting from white hate and fear to allow to break through incrusted dominion . The gift of dwelling in her words at this time, when we witnessed rebellion, that broke out to distroy the call of freedom and liberty of 245 and many years, we see the truth that only love one another will challenge all old and rusty upbringing. Amanda has sowed a seed in all as did the Fathers when chosing the words for this countries constitution, she - touches those words of the Fathers and makes them shine and glimmer and glow in our hearts and make them fly . Nothing is finished, this the beginning, of a new challenge to dismantle what thrives on inegality and hatred and killing.

Just saw Amanda Gorman on Some Good News, and had to find more of her work. Can we make this poem our national independence day poem? Dang, this woman is inspirational!!!

I’m shocked at how GONE her speech issue is!?!? My 11yr old also struggles with the “R”....and I went through and listened to Amanda’s old poems to her new and the change in how she can use the R is amazing. I wish she would share what her therapist did or what SHE did if she did it on her own
