Not only is Air Force One tricked out with all the latest defensive gizmos, it also performs as a flying embassy, pampering eminent guests and projecting American confidence and authority around the world. While I was serving in the Air Force, I had the opportunity to go inside one..it was amazing!! It taxied directly in front of my office. I asked if I could see what they were driving, they said yes and I got the tour. It was a great moment for me.

That money is used to protect the senior elected officials that the people voted for, anything that happens to them would be catastrophic for this country.

I didn't realize until a few months ago how enormous that plane is. They probably carry a complete convoy with limousines and suv's every time. And it's equipped with every type of military high tech. Again, a thing which a private person doesn't need.

@@catherinehermansen4376 Almost everything about Air Force One is classified. You might find interior photo's of the aircrafts that preceded the current ones but it will be very difficult to find much more than exteriors for the current planes.

Just took my family to the Air Force Museum in Dayton and walked through Jfks plane. Wow that was incredible. Dwight Eisenhowers pla e was also pretty cool to walk through.

The silver skin surfaces on the outside of the fuselage are chemically pure aluminum coating called clad, which forms a shell of a single layer of aluminum oxide atoms that protects the surface from further corrosion, is lighter weight, and does not require care like paint.

If I ever achieve my Dream I had since I was 5 I would want to share the 1st Flight with Loved Family members(If I had them still I was in Fostercare most of my life) OR At the end of my Time as President I would buy the planes from the Government or if I was Denied to buying them I would request them to donate planes to medical facilities who need to transport critical patients to a place that can treat them at no cost to patient or family

When the Air Force Ones were being built just north of Kansas City in 1989, my boyfriend at the time worked for a company (DME Rep) that made lights going in the aircraft. He was accompanied by security when on board but he was left alone long enough to put our initials under some duct tape in the wall behind the President’s bed. I thought it was romantic. He got a couple of coffee cups, pens etc. with the Air Force One insignia, that were given to people working on the project.

@@CharlezCheng He probably knows the difference because the E4 is essentially the real AF1. That’s to go to aircraft when hell breaks loose. It is much more modified and can withstand thermal and ionizing radiation to a higher degree than the regular air force one models that you see. They are continuity of government aircraft for the executive branch to carry out and execute a war especially during a nuclear war. The commander in chief and many of his cabinet would be on board simultaneously.

Air Force one can float on the sea in case of emergency without any leaks and power supply for days for the computers and air conditioning system .During war times and fly over international waters a group of submarines,jet carriers and destroyers are deploy in advance from navy and marines ports in allies countries according to the flight route .

You’re a part of the low information crowd. The E4 Follows the VC aircraft just about everywhere it goes when they are overseas. And in an extreme emergency, the E4 would be the real AF1. Actually it is the real AF1 you just don’t know it. When all hell breaks loose this is where the rubber meets the road.

AF1 is a callsign designated to any aircraft POTUS is on. The Cessna 172 at the 55th LeMay AEROclub could be AF1 if POTUS was on it. You don't even know what the 1ACCS is.
