Lovelace is a more efficient and less power hungry chip than Ampere. You should test the 3090 with the Framegen file. The results were very impressive.

Let's be honest, taking the prices for VRAM into account, for the price of a 4070, there should be 16 GB VRAM. But that would make the 4070 too capable for too long, right? Nvidia does not want that. :D

The problem with comparing frame generation on vs off is frame generation doesn't noticeably improve the responsiveness of inputs, so it feel pretty much like playing at the lower frame rate. And the tradeoff of frame generation, particularly at the base frame rates here is that while the visuals look more smooth the tradeoff is noticeable artifacts e.g. they are particularly bad in games like Jedi Survivor which can have big frame time spikes. That is if the game has frame time spikes it may be more enjoyable to just play with it off. It's most useful for games that are approaching solid 60 without big drops - that's not the case for some of the games there.

This is BS FSR3 frame generation works with all rtx cards and the rtx 3090 has more cores and more bandwidth and more VRAM so that rtx 4070 super makes no sense basically especially if you owe that graphic card no need to swap or to upgrade I made the decision to upgrade my rtx 3060ti to and Rtx 3080 12 GB and trust me it performers neck to neck with the Rtx 4070 not even mentionning that I got it for a very compelling price (400$) and in a very very good condition even with FSR3 frame generation so yeah Rtx 4070 is expensive for no reason now and it's a product that missed it's shot when launched

The thing i like the most is how nvidia now poits out that top ampere gpus use so much power but in 2020 (of course before but YKWIM) they decided for the first time in their history to ditch TSMC and go for worse samsungs "N8" getting big discount on wafers and making US the buyers pay for higher electricity. I went from a RX 6700 to the RTX 4070 Super and the performance uplift is insane. Alan Wake 2 looks like a completely different game with path tracing enabled.

What about latency? I find it quite awful :/ specially when using FG. I bought 4090 because i do not wish to use Dlss and FG (one of the reasons).. But sometimes i still have to use dlss.. I guess 4090 isn't good enough for 3440x1440 at 144hz (targeting 144fps)

For comparison this is the exact same die size of a GTX 760 from 11 years ago which I bought for 220 € back in the day. Even with all the inflation, ASML machines getting more expensive and TSMC raising their prices the price of this thing is pure fiction. In fact you don't even have to go back that many years. Take the 1660 Super which I also bought for 220€ back in 2020. It's only 10mm² smaller than this chip. You can give this card all the names you want but it's a 60 class gpu which should cost 300-400 $/€ if we're being VERY GENEROUS. Also I'd still buy a 3090 over this used any day of the week because of the 24 GB vram (let's see how the 4070 super performs in 2-3 years when it's running out of vram) and more importantly someone else already gave Nvidia the money for it so I stop supporting this monopoly like everyone should be doing. As for Frame Generation. Oh look there is an FSR 3 injection mod that replaces DLSS since you refused to make a compute shader frame generation version (like FSR 3) for older gpu's. Instead you only have the optical flow version of it so you can incentivise users to upgrade.

I see a lot of people calling this video dishonest. I think its completely opposite. Reviewers slam this claim, and proceed to compare rainbow six siege, cs2 and so on. Games that dont support dlss, let alone ray tracing. Not to mention, ganes that run at hundreds of fps regardless of the generation of the card. Who cares? But here is the thing Alan Wake 2 on a 3090 without frame gen is literally lower fps than a 4060 with it enabled, in alan wake 2. Now, AMD did put out FSR3 which certainly does improve the lifespan if our 30 series cards, but that doesnt detract from what these cards are capable of, especially if youve seen both in action. As before, DLSS just looks better, not because nvidia is a bunch of magicians or something, but because they insisted on cards having dedicated hardware to do this, to ensure the lowest latency and best visuals possible from generated frames, and it shows. If youve actually compared them. I find it hilarious how the ENTIRE gaming community COLLECTIVELY turned their heels the moment that AMD made FG possible on all cards, regardless of the visual quality. This video shows exactly how big a difference there is in the wpeed of the ray tracing equipment, and it looks like nvidia has done a good job. Thats not to say that their job is flawless. I think a lot of people, myself included, expected a 320 bit bus somewhere in the lineup of cards, which appears to have been omitted. If you slide one such card in as a 4080 ti, and slide everything else down a slot, i think the 40 series mightve been touted as one of the biggest generational leaps in the last decade of pc hardware, but it is what you make of it, and i understand that the pricing of a card is defined by more than its bus width. But regardless, i think thats what the community wants, in order to be happy.

I'm less than halfway in, and you already make a wrong benchmark. This is not how benchmarking works, to have frame generation on one card, and the other one doesn't, in the exact same test. It's exactly like comparing apples to bananas, which isn't fair nor it makes sense. Frame gen should be considered as an experimental feature, and not some primary marketing target. If you want to make frame gen actually relevant, then solve the increased input latency first. I would expect that you are capable to solve the latency problem somewhat, since you guys also made NVIDIA Reflex
