Is Tire Slime better the Fix-a-Flat, TireJect, and MultiSeal? Let's find out. TireSlime is compared to FixaFlat, Tire Ject, and Multi-Seal in several tests and we look inside the rim and tire after testing each product to look at the tire sealant and repaired area. If you still have these I would enjoy another video on it but a diffrent test. Put them in a good tire then 7 months down the road puncture that tire and see if it still seals. Mountain bikers have a sealer used like that but I would like something that works in my side by side in those a tire puncture is prone to happen

Thank you for performing this and other comparisons. I have used the SLIME sealant for years. Common concerns raised by naysayers are: (1) Corrosion to steel or alloy rims, and (2) potential damage to Tire Pressure Monitoring in-tire sensors. Your comparison gave a very brief test of possible corrosion issues. If you revisit this comparison, I recommend you allow a much longer corrosion test period, perhaps 30 days immersion versus the 1 day immersion of your current comparison. Further, I'd recommend you address the concerns of potential damage to in-tire TPM sensors. Thanks for a job well done Tom

At every oil change, add a bottle of your favourite injector cleaner to a full tank of gas, along with half a litre of 2 cycle motor oil. david c smith Fir a flat and green slime and the rest is crap. Green slime is for off road use only. You shouldn’t just throw the crap in your wheels. Generally the thing that put a hole in the tire stays stuck in. Get it fixed right at that point. I carry a small air compressor to air my tires up to get to a shot to get it fixed correctly. If it’s goes flat way to fast, I have a good spare.

Take it from a man with over a decade working at and managing multiple of America's largest independently owned tire shops, fix-a-flat absolutely can corrode your tires & rims. I have seen many very expensive rims, both OEM and aftermarket, end up destroyed from using these products. One example I will never forget was a really stupid guy who had a sedan with beautiful, very expensive custom rims and he was far too cheap to purchase the run-flat tires required by his vehicle despite our adamant warnings and his dealer advice. He had himself a brilliant idea in the back of his mind the whole time. He went right home after having the new tires installed and filled all 4 with fix-a-flat. Weeks later he comes back because his check pressure light going off every other day. Turns out the rims were so severely corroded the tires wouldn't keep an airtight seal and the chrome was just destroyed.

I had the green version of Slime (for tubed tyres) cause problems on alloy rims. The Slime latched onto bare metal (scratched by tyre levers) causing a lumpy clag that affected wheel balance. I would not use that grade in tubes or in tubeless as it does affect the metal. PunctureSafe/WellSeal is a tubeless grade. It did exactly what it says on the tin and saved me many times with punctured motorbike rear tyres.

That's interesting. About 3 and 1/2 years ago, while on a road trip from AZ to Utah, I got a flat from a screw. It was after 9pm, and a rural area. After trying 2 gas stations, the third was actually open, and all they had was Fix-a-flat Truck version. I got 2 cans, and put one in the tire. Now, I had a run flat, but was losing a significant amount of air, and left the screw in, and the fix-a-flat sealed it. I didn't lose any air, driving 70MPH the next 110 miles, and left it over night. No air loss in the morning, so I was able to take it to Discount Tire, where they patched it for free. So, I guess fix-a-flat only works with the screw in.

Now that there seem to be other, better, products, I'll sure be using a better product like SLime for a few more bucks. From my experience these kind of punctures are best repaired with the rubberized string plugs. Remove the nail, jam the string in, twist, remove tool, clip the excess. But you gotta have an air source. Even better if you add extra rubber adhesive to the string. GREAT VIDEO!

Ive tried Fix-A-Flat before and that stuff Sucks!!!! I’ll have to try another brand though... but hopefully won’t have to. Looking into buying a tire plug kit and mini 12V compressor. That’s probably the way to go. Awesome information and another great video. Much thanks, Todd. You have no idea how many thousands of people you help out on a weekly basis. My friend, God bless you and yours!

I use Slime on the motorbike and haven't had any flats for a year now, the tires used to be vulnerable to street debris and puncture a couple of times a year. For a passenger vehicle, the Multi-Seal seems the best choice. Great video production and it was interesting to watch !

@@ProjectFarm The "Power Tank" is the best, there's nothing better. I have one and it can run power tools, reseat beads and inflate tires faster than anything else. Although, you do need to refill it, so it's not a compressor but it is the most efficient.

DUDE!! Excellent video on this subject! I have dealt with flats and the two products (Fix-A-flat & Slime) and I also gave up using the fix-a-flat as it never worked!! I also never had the money at the time to purchase a bottle of Slime - and the hardware store was out at the time. I ended up flushing out the fix-a-flat and mixed a batch of pancake batter...yes pancake batter - and put in two cups of it into the stem of the tire...it worked!! I am very happy to see you do all these projects from grease - oil - fuel products and enjoyed the learning from your try outs. Thank you for spending all the money to do these things in order to save us out here the money from buying a bad product!! YOU are indeed the man!! Thanks & God bless.

Since I work in a garage, I've seen the aftermath of some of these products. A couple things you didnt see in your testing because it was short-term: Fix-a-flat will actually damage the tire if left in there for more than a couple days. It causes the rubber to break down and "dry rot". I have serviced tires which had that stuff in them for a long time and the tire was destroyed. If fix-a-flat is left in the tire for longer than recommended it dries onto the rim and is really tough to clean off. I do it with a steam cleaner and strong degreaser and even then it is tough to get it off. It can also gunk up TPMS sensors over time. A product that I have had great luck with in offroad tires is Berryman Tire Seal-R. It flows a lot better than Slime, and is even able to seal up sidewall cracks in lawn mower tires caused by "dry rot". I'm a big fan of that product. I think it was even priced lower than Slime. I haven't ever tried any of these products in on-road applications.

Go with the slime for punctures in the tread area of the tire only. It's not gonna stop a bead or valve leak. Just make sure you use the proper ammount for your tire size. Been doing tires for 20yrs. If you put so much in to cover the bead and the valve it makes it extremely costly in product. A new valve is $2 and having someone clean the rim shouldn't be more than $15 at a small shop. And nothing is gonna work for a sidewall hole. It flexes too much.

Keep some slime, or one those other products with your ATV, and a small 12v compressor, might save you a good headache one day.
