"ISOLYATSIYA" - one of the former secret prisons in occupied Donetsk, as revealed by Ukrainian journalist and former prisoner Stanislav Aseyev in his book "Bright Path". This place has been known by this name for the past 10 years.
Previously, "ISOLYATSIYA" was a center of contemporary art, established on the territory of the former Donetsk plant for insulation materials. It was a hub of cultural life in the city and an art space that attracted leading artists from around the world. And in 2014, it was destroyed by the «russian world».
Host Anastasiia Solod spoke with Alevtina Kakhidze, Oleksandr Kurmaz, and the leadership of the Isolation Foundation, as well as former Isolation prisoner Oleksandr Repetil, to find out what this art space used to be, what it has become as a result of occupation, and what Ukrainian culture lost along with this center? Find out more in the new episode.
