Vegetables like tomato are much more expensive in the winter time in Finland because we have to grow it indoors, foreign tomatoes are much more affordable though and theyre usually from Spain. But in the summertime the price of tomatoes go as low as 1€/kg because we can grow them outside :)

Finland has a long tradition of dairy products and cheese making. In the 19th century some Finnish cheese makers salaried some Swiss and other international cheese masters. The tradition has carried on to the thoroughly modern tradition of fine microbiology and handcrafted processes parameters.

Yea Jetlag Warriors sometimes make mistakes when they are looking for the cheapest product, that 2,4 € beer was cheap brand but it was made of wheat and 0,5 liters, cheapest ones are always lager and 0,33 liters.

Paulig is probably the biggest coffee brand in Finland. They have this really nice "New York" style roast which is my favorite. I do of course buy their other products too, especially because often stores will have discount deals, especially for "Juhlamokka" and ""Presidentti" coffees.

Produce will almost always be more expensive here up north because it's very expensive and hard to grow stuff here.

Finns drink 0,33 beer cans mostly. Around 1,00-1,30€/can. Varies ofcourse.

They are coming back to Finland now. Prices in Helsinki are higher than in the rest of the country. During the summer you can get a kilo of tomatoes for a euro-or something-so don't try to push your Italian tomatoes here during the summer. Olive oil is the money maker the whole year. The egg prices depend on how the chicken are kept, free-range etc. Texmex was trending in the 90s already, so the tacos have been around. Coffee is a loss leader product. People are used to getting at least three packs for 10 euros. The most popular brand: "Paulig - Juhla Mokka - säveltäjä Lasse Mårtensson (1980)". They liked the original grape-gin Long Drink: "Kimi Räikkönen - Live Original". You can get beer cheaper when you buy a pack. "Karjala 100-pack" and "Keisari Lager 1000 Pack Of Beer Worlds Largest Pack Of Beer Keisari 1000".

What can I say, Finland is among the most expensive countries... Not the happiest, just most expensive 😂 (which kind of contradicts the "happy" part ;)). I admit love countries where wine is cheaper than water, or at the same level , like Spain, Portugal and Italy, which I'm sure contributes to the happiness of people a lot 😅 After all, wine is life!

I would say food can be very pricey in Finland. Sure it depends what shop you buy it from and what the season is. As for cans and bottled drinks that you buy in Finland, they have deposition, It's a way to encourage people to recycle the cans and bottles and it works quite well. Cans have deposit of about 0,15€ and bottles vary from 0,10€ to 0,40€. I hope I don't get 'beaten' after saying this... 🫣 ... 🥁🥁🥁... I don't drink coffee. 😂 And not tea either for that matter. 🤣 Nah, but really, some people I know prefer Juhlamokka.

S-Market in the middle of Helsinki isn´t cheap. Also the meat and fish prices are crazy over there. But i understand that the rent for that store is very high in the central of our capital so the prices have to be higher than stantard prices in Finland. Also those tomatoes were really expensive. Usually those costs about 1,99€, but normal imported tomatoes are about 3,5€/kg and finnish are about 4,5€ - 5,8€/kg at the winter season. Summer time finnish tomatoes are about 2,5€/kg. But the off season finnish vegetables are grown in greenhouses so the production costs alot. That couple did few good videos traveling in Helsinki and Tampere (i live in here these days).

My favourite coffee brand is Presidentti (The President), the roast levels 1 and 3 are the best. ☕️

Alcohol and tobacco are very expensive in Finland. Supermarket beer of 5-7€/L is cheap. When you go tot the bar you would pay atleast that same amount of a pint (0.4-0.5L i believe, i don't drink myself). Just remember to return the empty beer can. You get some money back as cash or use it to buy something else in that specific market. Just remeber. Use the karelian pie as a bread. With eggbutter (munavoi) or with normal bread topping (cheese, ham, veggies...). Never eat it dry and cold. Atleast warm it a little bit. I prefer frozen ones but you need oven for warm them.

yep tobacco and alcohol are heavily taxed. Alcohol like 8-15% and tobacco 52% is taxed

in addition, Finland has had to support the economies of Italy and other Southern European countries with more than 10 billion euros through the EU, no wonder everything is expensive here.

This really was not cheapest market. And not supermarket. Same group has Prisma whic is much larger and cheaper. Then we have K-market, K-supermarketti and K Citymarket. And Lidl of course. Plus some smaller. And original gin Original (Light blue can)was bought To market for Helsinki olympian games In 1952

The prices on stores are depended on store location and size of store. Like S-market is more expensive than Prisma, do to S-market being smaller. Just like K-market is more expensive than K-supermarket or K-citymarket. Also we have Lidl and some others.
