Maybe I didn't pick it up, but did you say how long the lessons are on Italki? I saw somewhere that they're 25 mins? And... would you say Italki is better if you want to teach business English?

Do you get a lot of classes with Cambly kids? Do you get more italki or Cambly kids classes? Also, is there a short notice pay with Cambly kids? Very informative! Thank you.

@Selina Mickles I've met more elementary-aged kids on CamblyKids, but I have several teens who are regulars on italki. My italki profile isn't designed to attract parents, but I know there are other teachers who market themselves to children. I don't open a ton of slots on Cambly, but when I do, they get booked solid with young learners. There's no short-notice pay on Cambly or italki sadly. That's one thing I miss about the old VIPKid. I have a quick question about Cambly that maybe you could help me with? On the application form, they ask if you have previously worked for other platforms, how did you answer that? I am unsure of what to say, as I am currently with another platform, but I want to broaden my horizons, so to speak...

@kerry dillon I wrote that I've worked with VIPKid which was my only online teaching experience at the time of my application to Cambly. I don't think there's any risk in telling the truth. As independent contractors, we're free to operate on multiple platforms. Good luck! 🤞☺️

Hello! Is it possible to be in Cambly Kids and in Cambly classic at the same time?

@Kes Yes, I was approved for Cambly Classic and then got a welcome email for Cambly Kids a couple months later. My understanding is that if you're approved for CamblyKids and you open a priority hour, Cambly Classic users can book you as well. There's not very much separation between the two systems in terms of bookings.

@@classableesl Thanks for answering! Ok, you mentioned you were approved for Cambly Classic at first, but, did you have to apply for Cambly Kids too? Or were you accepted with the same application of Cambly Classic? Sorry for asking more haha.

@Kes I applied for Cambly Classic and Cambly Kids on the same day. It took me about 3 months to get approved for CC and then about 2 more months to start teaching on CK. I'm not sure why I had to wait so long, I think other tutors have been approved quicker. Feel free to ask all the questions you want... That's one of the main reasons I made this channel. ☺️

@Kes The priority hour calendar will show you when Cambly predicts more tutors will be needed but those peak times might change depending on holidays and historical student volume data. I haven't taught too many hours on the platform, but whenever I do open slots in advance or open a priority hour, I stay really busy.
