That's great.. I'm so glad you guys are safe. Even I used to tell my friends to practice some moves just incase. In a serious situation You can use whatever you have to hit them with .. One can always punch on face with middle finger knuckle up hurts like hell, poke his eye, pinch him bad....bite....punch in little above center of neck palm straight slight claw like..kick em balls.. No matter how strong it will work on any one.. Oh n ya 🏃 run n get help and report.

In the heat of the moment, it is likely you'll freeze up, panic, and/or forget. That's why self defense moves are something you should practice over and over, on a regular basis. It's a muscle memory thing. The more you drill it, the more likely your body is to quickly respond without you even having to think about what to do if you are ever put in these situations. Stay safe ladies ❤︎

It is better than nothing, watching and thinking about what to do in a situation does have some benefit. I like the idea behind this video, and self defense is very important. I think these ladies have good intentions, and I fully support what they are trying to do. However, most of these techniques would not work in a real fight against a fully resisting opponent who is actually trying to hurt you. The only decent technique in the video was the defense against the mount, except the position started in full guard and a mount never happened. Again I think it is admirable what these women are trying to do, but if you are really serious about self defense: 1) Get in shape. 2) Go to a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym, you will learn better techniques and be able to practice them over and over again with a fully resisting opponent. 3) Get a gun, learn how to use it, train with it, and carry it. In the real world the bad guys have knives and guns. All that being said, 90% of self defense is avoiding stupid situations. The other 10% is being able to deal with those situations.
@ButtrNut32
@ButtrNut32 2 роки тому
Glad someone here said it. I respect and admire their intentions but teaching these moves (especially lifting a full male attacker) is irresponsible and mostly falls on wishful thinking. I know ladies default to attackers is "get him in the balls" but you have a split second to react and make contact and then you have to worry if the guy has a high pain tolerance and isnt affected by it. Not all men are that sensitive to where they'll stop attacking because they get hit in the groin. Bjj is a great especially for smaller women. I say kickboxing and Muay Thai are best for strikes (imo) but none on this mens anything with out training. That goes for weapons to everyone must train and do so frequently to understand and control themselves in tense situations.
@BYGTraining
@BYGTraining Рік тому
Exactly. This is a terrible video. I'm amazed a blue belt in jiu jitsu would be arrogant enough to think she should be teaching women's self defense. Most BJJ practicioners I know have been humbled enough by live rolling against resisting opponents to know how unrealistic a lot of this stuff is and how difficult the 1 or 2 realistic moves would actually be against a bigger, stronger opponent.

I used to be afraid of walking home alone at night before I started to take self-defense classes. I'd like to share some tips that I've leaned from my classes so far with all your female viewers! I've recently been taking Krav Maga for women classes for self-defense, and so far I've learned that the best best self-defense targets on a mans body for women to attack, and the best ways of striking them are as follows: - the eyes (finger poke them) - the nose (palm heel strike upwards) - the throat (chopping like actions) - the testicles (knee / kick / punch / slap / grab-twist-pull and hold on to them tightly until he collapses and passes out within a matter of seconds) - the knees (sideways kick to dislocate) We always remember "eyes, nose, throat, testicles, knees" or "eyes, nose, throat, balls, knees" I've also been taught that even a trained, determined teenage girl could easily take down a man if she goes for these targets, especially if she goes fast and hard for the eyes or the testicles (or "high balls" and "low balls" as I've also heard them called!) One very powerful technique I also learned is that if a man has removed his trousers and he is about to rape you, then his testicles will now be extremely vulnerable to the "grab, twist, pull and hold" counterattack. You should snatch his balls and keep squeezing and pulling them as hard as you can until he passes out in under 8 seconds - and I've been taught that he will , no matter how big and strong he is. You can even use both hands, and it's still just as effective even if you only manage to get hold of one testicle. Apparently, when a man has his testicles forcefully squeezed it causes him to curl over, collapse, convulse and quickly lose all of his strength before he collapses and passes out or goes into shock in under 8 seconds. Most importantly this holds true no matter how big and strong he is - a wonderful natural advantage we females have in combat over men. Surely this is something we should all be made aware of and we should all be taught how to do it! I really wish that more women and girls were made aware of effective ways to fight back - in particular I wish they were made more aware of this "ball grab and hold" technique. From what I've read and been taught it has literally saved many women throughout the world. The women of Somalia even have a name for this move and they call it "Qworegoys". Mothers teach their daughters to reach under their attackers tunic and grab, twist, and pull his testicles until he passes out, and to also tuck their head in until the point he loses consciousness in case he initially starts to fight back. We, as women, really can fight back effectively, stay safe, and lessen our fears if we know how and where to strike on an attackers body and most importantly, learn how to "fight dirty" ❤️

Susan Williams if you want to learn self defense then go to mixed class not women self defense. All of them is a crap, women self defense is just a business. Go and train with men an you will see the difference. These ladies only courses are only good to sell those techniques that just does not work against a bigger stronger and resisting opponent. All of the techniques I know and had exam , works perfectly against women, but when I have a male training partner, most of them are just useless.... The problem with the situation you described, that if a man takes of his pants to rape you, your face is already broken and you will just lay on your back swallowing your blood and counting your teeths. Most of the raped women were beaten before, so if you could not defend yourself until the guy takes his pants off, then it is a little bit late... as an almost raped women said in an interview, after each punch she was thinking that my nose is still not broken... when his attacker made her naked and took his pants off, her face was already smashed.
@daheewang3475
@daheewang3475 4 роки тому
Don’t attack unless you are 100% sure you can get him. Which is never. Usually the aggressor will get more aggressive. It’s better you defend yourself than to get him to attack you harder. If you know how to defend yourself, usually they will run off because they know you probably know how to fight. If you are in a situation where you can only get out if you attack, remember to always get them where they least suspect. Usually the knee caps or the side of the stomach. As hard as you can. Kicking would be the best action. And always always practice! No amount of practice is enough.

Lolz Mcstuffins Leverage Not strength
@dostthouevenlogicbrethren1739
@dostthouevenlogicbrethren1739 4 роки тому
@@user-nn5my1lc5q It takes more than leverage to actually lift them as she did here. That's not leverage. It's also not going to work against someone with an extra 30, 50 or 100 lbs on you, as you'll tumble down with them. Agressors also don't attack with such lack of aggression. No one grabs a wrist, they pull you as well. They don't grab hair, they pull you as well. They don't reach around from behind and casually wrap an arm around your chest. And they certainly do not mount you leaving 4 feet of room between you and them. There's a reason self-defence taught in actual martial arts isn't a 10 minute video. Learning the basics only prepares you to understand the techniques needed for actual attacks. Until you try this with an actual attacker (stress testing), you'll never pull any off in reality.

@@dostthouevenlogicbrethren1739 As she did there, which was a lot softer. It's gonna work on someone with even 100 pounds on you. Granted, any fight will be harder if the weight difference is that big, but technique can still win. Granted, the other techniques are workable on paper, not so much in live-action. The wristlock shown here could be substituted by an arm drag, which sets up for a lot more takedowns and attacks.

The intention of this video is great. However, I doubt it will work in the situation (under stress!). If you really want to defend yourself, go into regular training, so the movements are in your muscle memory. You need to be able to do them without thinking. So the routine of the techniques is crucial! So training, training, training!!! Just a thought from a 3rd Dan (black belt) in Karate. 😉

Fran zi yes and its also very dangerous! When they have things for shit so small n simple as "when someone invades ur personal space" if that were to happen to me it would break bones as I've got illnesses. but ur average healthyjoe does not! ergo drunk guy tries to hit on girl in club like they semi set up& then bam she floors him wtf is he going to do?! cowar? retreat? call police? or maybe worst case scenario as well as the most plausible is he is going to try to beat her ass up ffs! duh common damn sense! Also " cuz ur personalspace was invaded" is not a good reason to go to self defense! and these days as quick to fly off the handle n call mere winking the same & on an =level with RAPE! ffs i never knew anyone to get ptsd from that guy he winked at me omg that's eye rape! Ffs as ridiculous as this shit gets more n more support men aren't taking it any more either guys like me raised never to hit a woman no longer live by that code our parents taught us cuz we need defend ourselves against over zealous feminist! That are going full femimazi ffs! Smh too to see all the other comments zero critical thinking was used by 90% Smh wtf?! Beside my comment yours was the only other i could find warning them about this cuz its also true they need train to get muscle memory so that when the time comes like u said no need 2 think u can think about the more critical things like should i? and when? Where? How? is it legal? But after a certain point the situation will usually tell us relatively quickly which way that will go&u can focus more on things like the legality of it unless ur life is in danger n its 100% self defense then yes which again maybe instantly obvious say they brandish a firearm or other weapon(s) which tells you + their body language and general demeanor. if they're a threat or not. maybe we should be teaching gun safety along with lessons like these. but damn that grinded tf out my gears when i saw her do the arm around the shoulder thing as common as it is and i can't think of any single situation out side of being a young lady that's dads being sworn into office by none other then creepy pedo joe Biden ffs! now that's where all of these moves deserve be demonstrated in their proper context! Lmao but well never get to see such actual justice especially when it seems the media at least n so many others that social justice is the only thing worth fighting to protect! Any way I'm out

Just had a creep try to follow me home (practically sprinting after me since I'm a fast walker). It got dark quickly and the street lights aren't working (currently waiting to be fixed) and there's lots of trees and driveways into fields that someone can hide in or drag you into. There's no other way for me to get back home and since its usually pretty deserted and gets dark at about 4:00pm the fact a guy a lot bigger than me could hurt me so easily is horrifying. I always let someone know when to expect me back so that in case something did happen and I'm delayed they can raise the alarm. I'm so glad that people like you are showing us how to protect ourselves. It's sad that it's so necessary but I can seriously say that your videos will make a huge difference to any woman who's felt threatened whilst walking alone.

All this techniques will work only if your opponent is a weaker person. And moreover your adrenaline will get shooted up in such situations as it comes with a sudden surprise. If you are not a trained martial artist or you don't have any combat sport experience, you may not be able to overcome that. It was not to under estimate women or their capabilities. What I meant with my previous comment is that, you cannot win a fight or a tough situation by simply studying theories. Let it be man or woman. Because when you face such a situation, you will not remember this kind of blocks and locks unless you are a trained martial artist. Because this kind of situations comes all of a sudden and movements would be so swift that you may not be able to anticipate. And by that time your adrenaline will be up and you will completely out of your mind. But if you are training such kind of techniques from a well trained master and groom your fighting skills by continuous training, you may be able to overcome such kind of situations. Please do remember that anticipated movements will not help you in practical situations. You should train it in a practical perspective from a trained fighter. So you will get chances to use your techniques most of the time.

Respectfully non of these will actually work in a real dangerous situation. This video is ideal to someone with some martial background training. Disagreed. If you train BJJ your head will be so filled with leg lock defenses and guard passes that the few relevant moves won't come up. If you only know the double arm bar from closed guard, you'll do that if someone's trying to choke you. A rapist won't put you into X guard.
@hefa5535
@hefa5535 Рік тому
@@MrCmon113 its not necessary about knowing bjj, mma or whatever discipline you choose. Yes the aggressor will not put you in a close guard but if you are experienced in ANY close combat competitive sport, you going to be in-tuned to danger. Your body is used to fighting under fear, nerves and adrenaline. That means when you are faced with a threat the likelihood of you crumbling in fear is unlikely. Anyone that has been in a fight or some sort of physical altercation will confirm how 9/10 you always revert to your primal instincts if aren't used to sparring. There's nothing wrong with these tactics. The only problem is there is no disclaimer on how they are probably better suited for someone with experience in fighting. If you are not trained and think im lying, try this on your brother or one of your friends who are slightly bigger than and see how complex it is. Especially if you give them consent to actually be aggressive towards you.

I love that you are teaching this on UKposts, and I offer the following constructive criticism with nothing but love and admiration; but as a self-defense instructor, I think these moves are probably too complicated for the average person to learn from watching a video without having more formal instruction. In the event of an attack, reactions need to rely on gross motor skills; they need to be simple, fast, and violent. It's not enough to get the person to let go of you, or drive them to the ground so that you can run away. The victim needs to drive the assail to the ground then give them a reason not to get back up, or hurt them enough to give you even more time to get to safety. Just my unsolicited two cents worth, and I hope that you take it with the intention that it was given. Keep teaching, and keep making people safer and more confident.

I loved this video and I would love to recommend some techniques that I came up with based on what I learned from here. Technique number 1: The Chokeslam. Let's say your attacker is trying to grab your left arm, you use your right arm to grab him by the throat, he's gonna let your other arm go at this point and you're going to want to place your free hand on his hips, lift him up over your head by his throat and hip and slam him to the ground. Technique number 2: The Hadoken. Your attacker is holding you from behind in a chokehold. First thing you're going to do is bite his hand so he lets go, then you take a step back and input quarter circle medium punch and send a blue fireball flying at him, potentially killing him. Technique number 3: The Great Escape. Your attacker has got you down on the floor and is on top of you. Uh-oh, right? Wrong! Simply make sure he inadvertently puts himself in a Kimura position, lock in the submission hold and break his arm and then simply run away.

first if your life is being threatened any resistance you can do is good though avoidance or deescalation is best. Most of these are common martial arts techniques and can be effective but any joint lock/grappling/chin na technique is best learned from an instructor, they were never intended to be taught from video (as video didn't exist when they were invented) there are too many variables when applying them and a small change in angle can make the difference between succeeding and failing also they are fairly easy resist or counter unless you can counter their counter by moving to a new lock changing angles or striking. One of the most important elements of self defense is awareness of your surroundings it is much easier to counter these attacks/grabs if you never let the attacker get a hold of you, first you need to keep people at distance if you can do this it's much easier to maybe even deescalate the situation which is always the preferred end. Sometimes that isn't possible and you might get grabbed in which case for an untrained fighter striking is easier to succeed with than locks and locks are also easier to apply after a successful strike. Thanks for posting the more info that gets out there the better.

Okay but for the second move, that isn't going to work if the person is much taller or bigger than you so you can't get a hold of their shoulder. It might've been more helpful if you brought in a big guy. Still incredibly helpful though!

The while point of the video though is for women to protect themselves against men without needing strength though. For the vast majority of cases, bigger or stronger people will choose smaller targets.

It can work, I do a different type of martial arts which had similar self defence techniques and for that second move you have to be super quick and rough, bend their arm all the way behind their back than use your other arm to wrap their neck and lock it into a tight neck choke.

Walking back to work at a doctors office across the street from lunch in a busy parking lot full of stores and I was walking infront of a doctors office & bank, near fast food and a grocery store. on the phone telling my BF I was going back to work and this guy around my age like 22-25 was behind me and walked infront of me and turned around as if he went the wrong way and attacked me for my phone. I still never got the cops to really answer me later on any possible footage of him running away under the cameras. No one helped. Definitely not until after did someone come out and gave a report. People watched as I screamed and was on the floor. Thanks for this video I hope I can sign up for classes. I love pepper spray, and the gel form now.

Ladies, I was just joking. I hope you didn't take it seriously. In my opinion, Joanna is a great fitness instructor and I often enjoy exercising with the help of her videos, but as a former instructor of hand-to-hand combat I don't think she is able to defend herself in a real violent situation, maybe she has some chances using a firearm. These techniques showed in the video above are in practice unuseful, they are thaught to students at the beginner level just to make them understand the mechanism of joints and throws and others stuff. Self-defense and all forms of combat can't be learned from videos on the internet unless you already have a solid base in martial arts or combat sports.
