What I have learned is that there are people that naturally make you feel jealous. Trust your gut. If you have a bad feeling about someone, most of the times it's not just a hunch. Be ready to walk away.

I personally disagree. We have instruments for a reason and especially with spouses, jealousy is a symptom. Sometimes what happens is that one is not so much jealous as angry that the one you love disrespects you or is not sensitive enough to avoid certain situations that could be perfectly avoidable.

It's not always about feeling inferior, sometimes it comes from how your significant other lives their social relationships. I was once at a bar when this drunk dude my gf knew from college grabbed her face like a toy while talking to her, telling her to come see him later... I was livid and I was fully expecting to fight him (I was young martial artist with a lot of testosterone). She told me that if I hit him she'd leave me, so I left pissed. She would always talk about being afraid of being hated by anyone so she'd let people do shit like this or be outright verbally disrespectful to her and she'd take it out of fear of being hated (her feelings, not mine). Just remember, this advice Jocko is giving is only worth it's salt if you also know how to choose your partner wisely.

This was great, I was extremely jealous today because girl I like was having fun with other boys, got so fired up and angry that I barely hide my irritation, thankfully I survived that day. There's a difference between jealousy and being protective of your relationship. Ya don't really need to be jealous of attention or of another person to notice red flags. Unfortunately, I've had experiences with these sorts of partners in which my laid back and confident attitude was not showing enough emotional intensity - as if they didn't matter to me.
