I doubt anybody could kill it in the first year let alone their debut night. Comedians that make it must have the thickest skin...to persist through so many failures definitely develops a don't give a shit attitude over time.

I got on the wrong train... So I stayed in Toronto 1 more day to catch a different open mic the next night. And this is where I realized I can't do comedy. Because I sat in my hotel and waited. And waited. And waited. I counted the wrinkles on my nutsack about 80 times. Just waiting for that 5 minutes on stage. And then I bomb and have to do that all over again? It's pure chaos, and it's definitely only for a certain type of person. Brutal.
