Minor point, but worth noting, the fascists didn't actually get the Italian trains on time, they just made it a crime to report on delays and then lied about how they got everything orderly and on time after everyone who told the truth was jailed.

As a citizen of the US, it sickens me how so many here heedlessly throw trash, disrespect property and others and feel it is their right. No pride. I have many faults but try to respect the world and people around me. It's like the parent telling the child who disobeyed and throws a ball in the house, this is why we can't have anything nice.

Most US grocery stores have coin-free carts but they've been used in Aldi for decades. And the Publix literally a block from my house has a grocery cart escalator. BFD.

UR Publix only caters to the upper class peoples? Do notice the small park lot for cars, the UPswing prices for similar items elsewhere...one carton of everything on shelves, not the 15 cases of anything aka WAlmart. The better UPswing store of Sprouts FArmers MArket..not for farmers, and most definitely an UPPswing place.. 2 whole aisles of carefully put up clear clamshells for everything one could possibly wish for. Salads, lunches, snacks, cookies full meals all in a 6 foot tall aisle that is only carry clamshell items thought fully prepared for ony $12.50 ~~~ $35 !!

I was in the audience tonight! The "captain of this dying medium" joke at the very beginning was because an audience member asked a question about that during the Q&A before the taping... honestly the only reason we don't have them much is cause of car culture. In places where space is limited and the grocery store has like a parking deck or something we have them too. You don't need them if you're going to be walking outside over flat ground to your car that's on the same level as the grocery store. And that's most of them in the us. But like pretty much every Ikea has them. A lot of inner city grocery stores have them. Idk why he was acting like he'd never seen them before. Maybe he's just so out of touch he'd never been shopping.

People keep pointing out that ALDI is using the coin cart system in their stores. That's because they're a German company and every supermarket in Germany uses that system. We also have the shopping cart escalators, that Tucker was so amazed about, everywhere. We even have somewhat decent subwaystations. Oh, and we manage to have all that "amazing" stuff WITHOUT living in a dictatorship (anymore). 😊

Jon is right that "they're both the same" as long as you only ever measure the visible mannerisms of two old men. What the Democrafts and Republicans are mad about, is his complete disregard for policy, economy and geo-political action that makes the two different. Nobody is disputing that Biden is old. Jon is too media-literate to believe people were criticizing him for "discussing" that Biden is old. Framing matters A LOT. And he chose to both-sides and produce false-equivalence. If anyone doesn't understand the power of framing, just imagine the segregationists saying black people don't deserve civil rights, and when people protested, saying "democracy dies in discussion". And "we're just asking questions" and "can't you take a joke?" HOW you say something is as important as WHAT you say. Jon knows this. I was hugely disappointed to see him mischaracterize people's valid, nuanced criticism.

Yeah, I'm giving Jon a second chance after his smug disregard of his past glibness when he glibly discounted the very real threat Trump poses to democracy. I have no complaints about his comments re Biden being old and I'm not asking him to engage in propaganda. But notice he just focuses on that criticism (as if the criticism was all about age--more BS on Jon's part) and not his belief that the bulwark will hold against Trump in a 2nd term. Remember when the velociraptors learned to open the doors in Jurassic Park? That's where Trump left off in 2021 and where he'll pick back up. Jon, either you can't see that (and if you can't, then you're not paying attention to experts or you have and your ego tells you you know better) or you had a great need to engage in both sides BS on that issue. As a person who has visited both the USA and russia, I can compare prices. Firstly, Carlson visited Auchan, which is a low-price grocery store. In other stores in russia the food is more expensive. Second.Why didn’t this Carlson show prices in russia for: electronics (gadgets, smartphones, computers, etc.), clothes, cars, household appliances, cosmetics? Prices for it in russia are 2 times higher than in the USA. and the average salary in russia is about $400-450 per month. and in moscow about $700 per month. and this is a journalist? why does tucker carlson lie all the time, why??

I was born and raised in Russia and I can tell you John Stewart nailed it - fancy subways and grocery stores are the price you pay for giving up freedom and living in fear. Plus, once you get outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg, life gets a lot greyer. Also, people make a lot less than $200 a week. My mom works 10 hour shifts without a break and she makes that in a month. Most of the things we complain about in America are nothing compared to the oppression, corruption and violation of human rights that people in Russia go through.

I mean yes, the groceries are 2-3 times cheaper in Russia, rent may be 5-6 times cheaper, but median salary in Russia in 2022 was 40k rub, or annual $5000. So half of the population earns less than $5000. If Tucker would go to an even poorer country, prices for food and rent would be even lower, but so do the salaries.

Here’s one thing I thought Jon or at least some commenters here would remark on. Tucker’s “radicalization” comment. Radicalization of disaffected people is what leads to terrorism. @@axileus9327 where's the misinterpretation? they simply provided additional context - and it's quite true that coin-trolleys are somewhat common throughout much of Europe, and are not at all special to Russia (as Tucker seems to imply)

I thought he made his POV clear. People shouldn't expect a single general presidential vote to "fix" everything. People already made that mistake with Obama. Also, just because Biden is the only choice for non-MAGA doesn't mean we shouldn't demand better from him or the Democrats. 2020 should had been a slam dunk, yet it was uncomfortably close.
