Dude is the most accurate college qb pff has ever recorded. Threw to his second read more than any other drafted qb and was the most accurate on those throws, and he's decent? lol. This is a tough game to evaluate because 4 of his olineman were out, their guard was playing center, and their HC was out. That's why Orlovsky kept saying this game was his biggest test. Not to mention he won the elite 11 by a mile (where Lawrence shit the bed), and that competition is strictly graded on learning the plays, retaining that information on field, making good reads, and arm talent/ball placement.

Hey now people calm down. I’m a really big fan of Justin Fields. And I have hope that he’ll be a success in the nfl. There’s truth to what you guys are saying. But I mean can you blame my skepticism here? I’ve been burnt by Ohio State QBs before that’s all I’m saying. All love everybody.

I agree. He has great raw talent, but it takes more than that to win in the NFL, as we've seen before. Lance on the other hand, if he sits behind Jimmy/veteran for a season, he can execute our offense with the play action passing game really well, and he also adds the running element

Did you see the snaps to him?? Almost every snap was garbage. Of course his reads are gonna be slow after snaps like that. Watch a game like vs Penn State or Clemson and you’ll get a better idea

Having said that, I've watched all his highlights, and some portions of games, and I still feel as talented as he is, he is a really raw prospect for the NFL. I think it would help him tremendously to go to a spread system, and sit for a year or two. I think Lance also needs to sit for a year, but his play in that NDSU system has better prepared him for a play action passing scheme like the 49ers run, as well as how often he's asked to play under center. The footwork is much cleaner than Fields' when I watch their tape. Just my take on it though

@@RDSports5 I think Fields is a dynamic playmaker and played against some of the top teams and played well against some of those teams. I do get how he needs to work on pocket presence but his arm strength is incredible and can make plays throwing on the run. I think he can work in any type of offense and I think Jets are looking for a quarterback they can build a system around whereas 49ers want a pocket passer to fit their system. I personally think Jets should take Fields and 49ers should take Wilson

People can see how polished of a passer Wilson is, and as Steve Young put it, the Jets have already 'recruited the family'. So that just leaves Fields and Lance at 3, and as much as I agree with your assessment on Fields (probably the best fastball in the draft in my opinion), I still like Lance better. Just looks so much more fluid in his stepbacks, the play action fakes look seamless already, and he has a really good arm as well. You add his Kaepernick-like speed (even more shifty I think), and Kyle could make this guy even scarier than Fields in my view. We're definitely splitting hairs here though, both are great talents

Why? It’s not like nfl teams a doing a bunch of under center snaps anyways. And most of the time they are it’s for a hand off. This isn’t a concern for me.

Thats ohio state. Dwayne haskins the same. I sat through 8 of haskins' games and he took 0 snaps under center. not a misprint. Zero. He was also one of the most innacurate qbs i had ever seen down the field. I havent scouted this guy yet though

The white ones was even a slightly lower percentage. The black ones who failed , their bad attitude/work ethic was the major reason for their failure & the white ones, it was simply they sucked. 2011 - Cam Newton (I didnt put as bust but might be a little less than what drafting team had hoped picking him #1 2012 - RG3 - massive fail. One of the biggest busts in NFL history, #2 overall. And NO - his biggest issue was NOT his injury. 2015 - Jameis Winston - a bust to this point as a former #1. But has one last chance to redeem himself in NO. 2017 - Mahomes- #10 overall. One of the great draft picks of the modern era. His is mixed race. Kyler Murray and Tua are too early in their careers to label.

I’ve literally watched multiple videos of Trey Lance with a similar format to this... I see him TIME AND TIME AGAIN throw to his first read, or just not go through his progressions and dump the ball to his checkdown.

@@nickevans5589 the first play, te running a crosser into a hang defender while pocket was collapsing, he runs a touchdown in, the second play was lion/spacing, there was no open, third play if im not mistaken was a screen play with a fake jet, the screen was covered well, the 4th play a high snap where he wasn’t able to look at the field yet and then the pocket collapsed, the red zone spot play, 4 was open but he also had a curl defender coming on him and a NT jumping in the throwing window despite what Dan was saying, fields is not a slow processor despite what his stats and “film” say. He is in an air raid/run and shoot influenced scheme that has a lot of sight adjustments and find space rules in the offense that actually forces you to hold the football longer than a basic spread, rpo, air coryell, west coast, edhart-perkins would be because those are more defined systems. He does need to be retooled a bit in his mechanics, because thats more so of an issue than his processing, because he tends to load then release when it needs to be a one motion form like a brady or brees which will be fixed in the next level look no further than herbert and mahomes.

The TE is running across to the right with a LB under, at the moment Fields would set his feet and the throw, the line gets pushed in his face. Not to mention people arent paying attention to context. 4 of his starting lineman were out, with his guard playing center, and their HC was out. I have no doubt that they went into this game with the mindset to play it safe, and the way they were beating up on MSU, there's literally no reason to make throws in the redzone like that, none. He throws into much tighter windows under pressure quite often, but this wasn't the game to do all that. I feel like people forget there's always a gameplan.
