Development and a good o line like every qb but especially rookie ones. If you noticed Brady has always had a good line. They have always invested in protection for him.

Develop him behind Jimmy G for a year. Look at some QBs who weren't the starter right away. Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. Those are some pretty elite QBs.

Yeah no offense. Obviously this is a great performance. But the NFL is NOTHING like this. He’s telegraphing every throw, not having to process information across multiple reads, has literally 4-5 seconds of clean pocket. This is not even close to an NFL environment. Out of the 5 top QBs, it’s pretty clear that Fields has the slowest decision making and release. So he will have to improve that dramatically. But best of luck to him.

It’s similar to herbert vs burrow. Burrow is the better QB but Herbert plays for the better team by far. After watching tape of Mac I can say I was wrong, go watch tape and pay attention to his feet, then pay attention to his pocket presence, and his feel for the game. Mac literally reminds me of Tom Brady, not saying he’s the next Tom Brady but his throwing motion, his feet and many things are similar to Tom Brady. Go search on UKposts and watch Mac Jones in a high school camp, he won the quarterback competition that included Trevor Lawrence in the same competition. I think many people are over lookin Mac but I get why. It’s hard to think a guy like him could be successful in today game but he’s actually more mobile than people give him credit for

He went through multiple reads quite a few times in this game. Fowler and Herbstreit even said it on one play in particular. There's times where he is manipulating the Penn State safeties with his eyes but from our viewpoint he just staring at his first read the whole time. @@crisalexander1185 That's only a selected few of questionable read. If you take into the totally of his snap, there is just not enough to say ohh he's a read QB. And you forgot to mention something very important. His foot work and throwing motion is slow compare to the other QBs. This is very important in terms of coordination with the receivers. Timing and coordination is very important between the QB and the receivers. If the QB is slightly slow, there is a chance the throw is off. Also, his passing seem to float in the air...If you watch other QBs like Mac Jones, their throws are zip, precise and right on point, not floating. Nobody question Fields athleticism and running away from the pocket. The question is, is being athletic enough to offset his passing glaring weakness compare to other QBs? Should team bet on it? We will see.

@@reptilexcq2 Did you actually look at the link that I posted because the ppl who studied Fields film there go into detail about him going through his progressions and his footwork. Not to mention fields has shown plenty times during both seasons to have zip and touch on his passes on all three levels of the field. Both his touchdown passes to Olave and that throw to Garret Wilson running that post corner route showed as much in that game alone. Justin absolutely has everything required to be an elite QB in the NFL. The only thing that you would want him to do better is get rid of the ball a little quicker at times and even that is not all on him. OSU under Ryan day likes to run a lot of plays with longer developing routes.

Kid has a hell of an arm and he is accurate, but he will need a lot of coaching to get over seeing past the first read. Hopefully he goes to a team that he is able to sit for a year and learn
