I watched this fight at my (heavily Irish) college’s bar and it was electric. I’m a Khabib fan and I was very vocal about it, especially when he won. Half the guys at that bar looked like they wanted to kill me lmfao.

Conors defence against the take downs in this fight is underrated , we all know Khabib is like the Everest of grappling. Khabibs boxing is also underrated. he has wild punching power and decent head movement. This fight is one of the best fights in MMA.

One of the most satisfying ass kicking s ever dished out. Conor was humiliated and became like a neutered dog after this beat down. He ran his big mouth to the wrong person and was never the same after.

In barboza's fight from the first he kept closing the distance to avoid kicks but with conor he was defensive and backed up to avoid conor's vicious counters. his ability to stay composed even after all those mind games of conor is appreciable.

But then Conor quickly reassembles his composure, breaks his own paralysis and Looks away in a bit of a casual look. Conor is very aware of his body language and connected psychology. It's interesting to see that he both lost it but also how he is so aware and really tries to maintain it after the initial shock

Conors take down defence was very impressive He was 2 years retired and came back injured leading up to this fight. You could cleary tell his strikes where weakened by his balance due to the injury. So between ring rust , injurys. and to win a round before losing focus. Fair play. If the fight was two years earlier. Id say khabib would be asleep. That fight against alvarez was proves my theory. He was at the peak of his career. Won two titles in two different weight classes at the same time whilst holding both together. Then money may weather offers $100million which any one would take. He had nothing else to achieve. If he had of stayed in ufc . He wouldnt be as rich and still wouldn't have won any other titles he hadnt already held. Smart man and an awesome fighter. Well done
