Everyone takes their youth for granted and eventually wishes they could go back. That said, I grew up in the 80s and came of age and went to college in the 90s, and it really was as good as reported. The music was great, movies were great, America was great, everyone got along and there was none of this woke shit. In many ways I feel bad for kids these days. Our culture is so busted now.

I remember as a kid in the 80s, my mother was offended by this song and always told me I should be listening to The Supremes version of it, which (according to my mother) was the only good version of song. Pretty silly in retrospect, but her resistance to it only made me listen to it more often. Teenage rebellion and all that. It really is a great cover, though.
