KOHBERGER TRIAL FIASCO IGNITES ANGER, POISONS LOCALS?

Місяць томуAs the Kohberger defense team moves ahead with their trial preparations in hopes of moving the proceeding out of Latah County, they put together a research project.
In that research project, they hired a polling company to survey area residents to ask questions about how much the residents may know about the murders. The company had reached around 400 residents before a concerned citizen recorded one of the survey phone calls and contacted the district attorney's office to complain.
Prosecutors say the polling company was asking questions to plant negative opinions of Kohberger in potential jurors' minds in the hopes the calls would serve to prove that local people were prejudiced against Kohberger and that the trial should be moved to another county.

This whole trial is just a mess! Ive never seen another suspect treated so highly or handled with such" kid gloves" as they have Kohberger. I have so much empathy and sympathy for the families of these 4 beautiful students. I can only imagine how hard it is to grieve a child,but to constantly have a new stipulation or new exscuse to not proceed with this trial has got to be crushing😢

The items in the house should also not have returned to the victims' families before the trial because it was actually evidence, the only thing that is going to help the families heal is to get true and full justice but there were 8 hours before 911 was called and the house was swarmed by many people before the 911 call was made so the evidence had already been tainted, who knows what else could have happened. I do not get why people are so eager to just have someone, anyone, convicted without them being proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, many people had gone by prison to be released later because they were actually proven innocent.

Did you not hear the result of the survey? There was only a very small percentage that didn't know about this case. There is nothing to poison or taint because this county is already super biased and everyone in this county know about this case. So I don't know why the prosecution or Nancy Grace are so angry. @@pinkrubixAww thanks - I love her too and all those sitcoms from days that appear a little simpler ☺ I wasn’t trying to start anything; I got through the 2.5 hour hearing and thought everyone comported themselves exceptionally well, even when emotions ran high. What I gleaned from the hearing was that surveys of that nature are indeed used when trying to change venue. Unless I missed the ‘stunt’ part of the entire exercise? Taylor to me seems to be an exceptionally good lawyer which might be why everyone wants to see her go away. Hope I haven’t dampened your love for Sam too much ☺

It's the job of the defense attorney to provide a good defense. The prosecution has to prove , beyond a reasonable doubt that BK committed murder. Not the other way around. Sit on that before you pass judgment.

@@yellowhammer3 When and how did the police “taint the jury pool?” Calling people up and putting ideas into their heads means that they would be ineligible to sit on a jury, even if those ideas were untrue. MPD has not been calling residents in Moscow, in a vain attempt to get the trial moved. The people of Moscow have every right to have the trial take place in their community, where the murders took place. Moving the trial is a desperate attempt to get a guilty person off the charges.

OMG. I can NOT believe this attorney DID this. How STUPID do you have to be? And so full of herself that she didn't think she'd get caught? I HOPE this judge removes her from trying a case in his courtroom, I hope this judge files a complaint with the State Bar to have her disbarred and until that time, has her immediately suspended from practicing law. So, it's Nancy Grace's fault for reporting that the defense may have possibly tainted the jury? No, not everyone I know watched UKposts (however, most people do), and not everyone watches NG. Nancy Grace has a saying that I really like & I use it quite a lot... "But not for" really applies to the argument. "But not for" Brian Kohberger's defense team surveying residents (not just with questions, but with questions that informed them as much questioned them. i.e. Did you see/hear that BK was arrested AT his parents house IN PA?), then NG would not be reporting on it. From what I understood (and this may have changed), there is a gag order in place. So, how is this ok? The questions weren't just polling questions. There was information within the questions.

Yes, I don't care what the reasons were or who wanted it, but the house SHOULD NOT HAVE been demolished UNTIL the trial was over. I think that was a huge mistake. It should have been left "as is", sealed and guarded UNTIL after the trial. It was a crime scene... 4 people lost their life. If that house could have/would have helped to identify/prosecute/sentence the killer in ANY WAY, it should have been left alone.

The questions asked, were designed for two reasons: (1) to cast doubt when defense gives their side, and (2) to taint the case of the prosecution. The defense know they will not be able to refute physical evidence, so they are resorting to these tactics hoping to save their client, and their fee. This is the worst lawyering I have ever seen. On top of that, they accuse the judge of violating the defendant's rights? They did that themselves. This is torture for the families to hear this, and they have lost enough, as has the community. Despicable.

AT has been adamant that the trial not start for a year because EVERYTHING has to read & approved by her, so she knew about the questions. She should face discipline by the court. Judge Judge needs to quit being so accommodating to the defense. AT can pay for the change of venue out of the $1.2 million she’s being paid by the Idaho Taxpayers to defend BK. Why should we pay more because of her trial strategy. Changing the venue is a hardship for the victims families, witnesses, LE, court employees, etc. Kaylee, Maddie, Xana & Ethan deserve JUSTICE!

Kohberger makes my skin crawl. What is wrong with lawyers these days? They make a point of poisoning the jury pool and then cry the jury pool is tainted. The judge needs to put these lawyers behind bars, preferably in a cell with their client and let them think about how much longer they want to be there next time around.

When the judge became aware of this over a week ago, he allowed Ann Taylor to “beat a dead horse” defending this. He needed to be firm and decisive, not schedule another hearing. He needed to show his anger instead of stating it and allowing her to drone on. She also tried to spin it by complaining that he stopped the survey!

Their case is banking on flakes of skin particles that is KNOWN to be so unreliable. I didn’t believe it until I read docs. Not media. True facts. Even Chris M on this show from the interview room just released a series on exposing the money aspect of this case & Scott green the president of Idaho was in with the investigation. Wrote a book & is hiding money. It’s so sad bc these babies deserve REAL justice!!! Prosecutor Bill Thompson clearly admitted Bryan Kohberger never stalked any of the victims. Here, it appears to me, the prosecutor is trying to inflict court prejudice, obviously trying to restrict the defense. There is not "taint" and this court does not seem to understand they cannot restrict and cause material prejudice, they cannot control on how an attorney does their job. The prosecutor and judge cannot work together to restrict Mr. Kohberger's right to defend himself. The survey was based on info media spinned. The judge and prosecutor appear very chummy-buddy-buddy both seem unprepared to deal with the reality of such a survey. Santa is outraged and seems to be trying to control a defense attorney from doing their job for their client. Such surveys are case specific, and do not have anything to do with sunshine and weather like this prosecutor and judge thinks they should.

So the prosecution itself stated that BK did not stalk any of the ictims Just a random quadruple murder of unknown victims in an unknown location with a lot cars parked outside. An 8 hour delay after the silent attack in calling 911. No blood trail outside etc. This typeof survey has been used previously in idaho cases ... Does that then bring these cases into legal question.

Yes, the house should have been left (as is minus perishables removed), sealed & put under guard until the trial was over. I don't care who wanted it torn down OR the reasons behind it. 4 people lost their lives there. The crime scene can also be considered a voice for the victim(s). As far as him not being alone, I saw or read something back when he was arrested. It was something along the lines that when he was arrested or first interviewed, he asked if he was the only one that had been arrested or if other people had been arrested as well (sorry I can't remember how it was reported.) I remember thinking to myself, at the time, "What an odd thing to say... That's really weird." Every time I've seen him tv, he is sitting there with a blank stare, super calm, wearing a little smirk, like he's bored or like he has a secret... I feel like he's going to drop some type of bomb when he finally goes on trial.
