If you submit to the suicide theory, that's fine. I did too. But I challenge you to do this. Watch Soaked in Bleach on Netflix start to finish. Then reply to this thread and let us know if you think the suicide theory still holds up and why. We all have a limited view of the world around us and that's what shapes each of our own unique perspectives. It's pretty difficult to see with your eyes shut, I think that much we can all agree on. Well truth isn't seen thru the eyes. The "truth", is an evolving ideal that takes shape within the mind. Open up your mind and you just might see how distorted your view of the world really is. Totally sad. My parents divorced when I was sixteen and I didn't think that it had any kind of noticeable negative impact on my sister and I's life till years later. And it turns out that.... it FUCKED US UPPP!!!! It really did though. I'm going to do my damnedest to ensure that first off, I truly choose a good one. Second I will do everything in my power to make it work, unless it's negatively affecting the kids. I think that why kids born in the 90's are so often single or at least not making the relationships super serious and how we're very slowly to tie the knot much less have kids at a young age

My grandparent was racist but she still was a "Good" guy. She put all of her money into our family and helped raise me when my mom wouldn't. It's all about ignorance, there's an awesome Ted talk with this guy, I forget his name but he's black, and he befriends a KKK member, who was the leader in the surrounding area, and after years of being friends with him and trying to understand him the KKK member gave up the Klan.

@@urmom-lf1yd @Elsa Hartmann Frances was born the same year that my eldest was born- accept I was a lot younger than Kurt. I don't know the truth of the matter, just the speculation of the pre-internet generation flotsam-which makes me a lazy Gen-Xer, I guess, for not Googling this and making a citation. I remember someone, who I thought was important at the time, saying that the Cobains were a working class family and his Dad was part of the logging industry of the Northwest. When the industry tanked, so did his father get tanked, at home. Mom and Dad started bickering too much and they split. And then this is where the myth of Cobain started cropping up; Manic punkrocker, person who raged against bu11sh1t he saw everywhere, part looney-toons cartoon character who watched his tour van blow up with his bandmates, rags-to-(credit)riches at an early age, responsibilities of numerous people relying on his talent to "entertain us" for their paychecks/livelihoods, (most likely) borderline wife, constant pain, eventual drug adiction, not providing his kid the home life that Cobain so desperately wished that he had, and then the end. Too many pressures on a working-class kid from the Pacific Northwest. We forgive your death Kurt; We constructed you and so, like the death of someone who was murdered on the Ides of March, we all had a hand in your demise.

Father Badger I thought his dad was a mechanic or something with cars. I read that part from Heavier Than Heaven, it’s also in Montage of Heck. The saddest part in that movie is towards the end, when it’s Bean’s first haircut. He’s holding her and nodding out, while Courtney is cutting her hair, and Eric is filming it. I love this interview. It shows us how sensitive and intelligent Kurt was. He wasn't this psycho death rocker that some people made him out to be. He didn't have the maniac ego or macho attitude that a lot of other rock and roll stars had. I mean, how many other big musicians were speaking out against sexism, racism and homophobia? Most wouldn't risk upsetting their fans or losing money. And it wasn't just that Kurt spoke out against those things, you can tell that it really bothered him. I know people are fascinated by Kurt's tragic end and his battle with depression and drug addiction...But what's amazing to me is that, despite all the pain he felt, despite all of his personal demons, he was still a truly empathic and thoughtful person.

If you mean during the grunge/alt rock era I would still vouch to say almost every big musician including Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Thom Yorke, or Rage Against the Machine. Grunge in general was quite socially political. Some of those musicians listed are or were even more insightful and witty than Kurt. Though I don't see the issue with some musician prioritizing solely on the music and having fun with their fans who go to their shows to escape the bullshit paradigm of reality that hasn't and will never change. Some people prefer the separation between music and state I'm pretty sure the majority of rock stars who are not Ted Nugent condemn bigotry

Kurt Cobain was a "Feminist" in the way every normal person is a Feminist-- a classical Feminist who wants equality for women. It doesn't mean he'd be a 2019 militant Feminazi who demands equity over equality (equality is everyone getting the same opportunity to prove themselves; equity is getting the same result regardless of capability). This is where modern day Feminism has gone off the rails. Kurt could never endorse this ideology because it's a form of unfairness also, albeit dressed up in a new disguise. I promise you this much, if Kurt were still with us today he would not identify with the modern day era of '4th wave Feminism'. It's because above all else, Kurt Cobain was an anti-establishment rebel by nature. He was a rebel waaaay more than he ever was a politically minded individual. Kurt would distance himself from the modern day Feminist ideology because he'd notice that the Left are the ones who have become the powerful establishment figures currently suffocating artistic expression. It's the Left who have assumed cultural power at this point, and have morphed into the same joyless, school-marming, tyrannical Puritans conservatives were during the 1940s-70s. It's the Left who's smothering comedy, art, and music these days. It's the Left who's preventing honest discourse. Don't think for one minute Kurt wouldn't see these things also, and that he wouldn't utterly detest the effect it's having on society-- the same way his fellow punk rock icons Johnny Rotten & Johnny Ramone have. The Bottom Line: Kurt Cobain would be railing against today's political climate as fiercely as he railed against 80s glam metal because opposing the rigid, uptight Left is the new counterculture. It's the new "good fight" for sincere rebels everywhere to take up in order to reclaim freedom of expression.

@@Britton_Thompson Nah, it's just politics growing more toxic as time goes on. For every toxic person on the left, another toxic person sits on the right. Stomach pain is a symptom of heroin withdrawal. He said he used heroin to alleviate his stomach pain. I think he didn't want to face the fact that the pain was coming from his addiction so he blamed it on his anger. That's just speculation though

This interview was done a day after my first birthday. I’m now the same age Kurt was when he died. I fell in love with Nirvana when I discovered them in high school, though I never really understood why. Recently I’ve been delving a lot more into Kurt and Nirvana and the more I learn, the more I find I relate and understand why they became my favorite band. My parents had split in high school and went through an ugly court battle. I was also one of the quiet socially awkward kids who didn’t have many friends and utterly blew any chances I had with girls. My life was nowhere near as strenuous as Kurt’s but what he wrote was the perfect expression for the alienation and anger I felt, and really helped me through one of the toughest times in my life. I only wish I could say thank you and that the world had returned the kind of empathy and compassion Kurt felt toward everyone else, and also that he felt that same love for himself.

He was so sensitive and so intelligent. He had a very fragile, tender mind in the sense that he had preserved the child in him. And with the divorce it only locked it in him. Thats why he was confused in school and only talked with the girls, becausw he connected with them because he had this sensitive outlook on things. Thats why he thought he was gay, because everyone called him that. I have a classmate who hangs out only with the girls and to be honest he kinda looks like Curt. Guess what they call him gay as well. With music he expressed himself, his voice crying beautifully. He then realised he soon had a gf and even a baby.... So much to handle already in thought that he still feels like a kid. And that no one acted with him in an acording way to his amazing character. Drugs and depression only added up to shit, and the pressure for things as well. He was tired and its okay. After everything its his life. No one is going to live it for him. If he felt like he couldnt do it and it would be best to preserve what he already had in hope someday someone will appreciate it, then he did the thing that is best for him.

I've been told I looked like them and I don't know but I see that he has a high sense of knowing what's going on but not really had a chance to express it, I also hang out with mostly girls because they're so interesting yet exhausting but it's nice to hear his story and I enjoyed listening to his voice on this interview

he probably connected with girls more because girls are more expressive, and less extreme usually.

@xanthemclean5026
@xanthemclean5026 8 років тому
+Darragh Noone scoliosis is curvature in the spine, for example, a straight spine would be 0°, mine was at 97°. so i had surgery two years ago so now mines at 26° or so, and i have metal rods and screws in my back. my case was genetic but kurt's was most likely caused by the way he held his guitar and his posture. hope that helps! ☺️

+fcuk you they got to him. like Dave Chppele said "what can cuse a man to run into bthe streets screeming ' theyre trying to get me'". And then they try to make it look like Courtny did it. Just look at all the comedians, and revolutionary artists who commit suicide. Anyone whith that much influence over the masses is a threat to anyone who wants to keep things as they are you knw? But thats just a thought.

School was always hell for me, the bullying got too distressing, the teachers didnt care, no one wanted to help me, i felt doomed and hopeless. I started listening to nirvana and other punk rock music and it made me feel less afraid and more understood. I was going through a lot of mental health issues and ed, sh and i dropped out in march and no one knows where i went. March 2023 was the last time i sh''ed all thanks to nirvana and punk rock music ♡♡
