I don't see what the big hype is over the male role. If you watch any of her music videos she never chooses the typical male model of perfection. It is something that I have grown to love about her especially in her music video Ride. Real men, not the photo edited, makeup coated faces we have grown accustomed to seeing.

It's really annoying to me how so many comments on this video are about the guy in the video being "ugly, hideous, gross etc". I mean, seriously..what are you - five? When will people grow up and learn how to look beyond physical appearances? Tropico is truly a beautiful short film and the fact that some people are focusing on the male model's appearance rather than the actual film concerns me. Just sit back and enjoy the wonderful art in front of you instead, for the love of God.

To all the people who said this video was trashy: You clearly haven't heard the three songs that are going to be put into this video. Body Electric, Gods and Monsters, and Bel Air. Lana described Tropico as a "tale of redemption". Redemption meaning forgiveness, and change for the better. For us to see her redemption, we must first see the bad, the ugly, and the sins. That's why in teaser #1 she is praying to Saint John asking to be forgiven of her sins. It's a 30 minute film. We're going to have to see the bad first before we get to how she changed and became a better person. If you listen to Lana's songs, you'll see that she used to live a very dark life and she was an alcoholic. This is her story. Don't judge. Just observe.
