My dad has had this car jack for years. He bought it used and apparently the previous owner made some interesting modifications to it... They used to use these things to re-bend vehicle frames back into shape after an accident which put a lot of stress on them. Anyway it was leaking pretty bad and wouldn't lift up a car anymore so I decided I'd rebuild it for him and make a restoration video out of it.
I started this restoration project a few years ago, but after I tore it apart I realized I'd need a lathe to actually fix it up properly. It sat in a storage bin for years in pieces until I got a lathe and enough courage to try and put it all back together. Sorry the video ended up being a feature length film... I couldn't really cut it down much more and I don't like multi-part series.

When you undid the bearing to the wheel on your vicegrip I couldn't help but smile. Damn fine engineering when you find pristine bearing marbles despite the entire tool being covered in decades of grime and grease. Like, wow. No wonder I love this older built-to-last stuff

I rebuilt these beasts for 25 years and am glad to say you've done a 98% excellent job. My nitpicks are - You put 29 ball bearings in the caster races, should have been only 28 (they need a little room to roll around easy). From the factory all the pivot points, wheels and saddle stem came fully greased. At '25:10' the rubber plug for the check valve is installed upside down, if it's not leaking now, it soon will be... And finally - The saddle should have been painted white.

What I would love to have as I'm watching this is subtitles explaining the different parts as they are being worked on and what is being done. In my belief arguable Hein Werner along with Walker the best quality hydraulic jacks ever made (Then, when made in the USA) Chinese Jacks ? Junk, IMO.. But be sure not to forget to double up on the jack stands for non USA floor jacks, they will slow leak at times, which anyone who cares not to die under a vehicle should use without fail, USA or off shore purchased and used ! It definitely gets hot under there, and that rubber will melt. Do your valve adjustments, and that bug will run forever. Also, check the voltage regulator under the rear seat on the driver's side.
